Orienteering race (Sprint-O) 29:30 [4]*** 4.8 km (6:09 / km) +40m 5:54 / km
ahr:158 max:167 spiked:5/7c shoes: '05 Integrator Hightops
Sprint 1 at Mine Falls - 4.8 km running distance, about 40 m total climb per the GPS thingy.

Conditions ranged from nice dry trails to 3" of slush over mud. Sun was out, which helped a lot.

Mine Falls tends to have way too much trail run, but I was thankful for the flatness.
Orienteering race 33:34 [4]*** 5.2 km (6:27 / km) +60m 6:06 / km

Sprint 2 at Mine Falls

5.2 Km and 60 m climb per GPS. MOre sluch and more mud.
Bad route choice, or rather lack of route choice from 1-2. Really should have looked at the map and seen there was a stream right in the way. ended up going to the right and over the foot bridge.

Saw John F coming out of 3 as I headed towards 2. Saw Ernst behind me as I headed into 4, then he caught me right at 5. He pulled ahead and disappeared, then I saw him again in a minute or so, headed back where we'd come from. Comment in passing was that he'd missed 4.

Kept pushing more than I thought I could, a good trail workout.

Evening jaunt - haven't run in a while and could feel it.
Started off not sure how far I'd go - maybe to the end of the block and back. Decided I better just keep going and see if could knock some cobwebs out of my system.
Skiing just doesn't have the same punch - maybe that's why I enjoy skiing more and am more inclined to stay out longer on skis.

XC Ski intervals (Skating) 37:45 [4]8.4 km (4:30 / km) +150m 4:08 / km
ahr:152 max:172 shoes: Yellow Fischer Skating
Evening ski at Gunstock
They regroomed the main trails, still hadn't hit the side trails, so doing the O course I still ahve out wasn't possible.

Conditions pretty fast. The few sections they groomed for the first time today were pretty soft.

Had hoped they would have groomed the Mt Rowe trails, but no luck. Nice glaze on top with a few stray snowflakes floating around.
