From Gunstock, up the Orange Overlook trail to the saddle between Belknap and Gunstock, then up to top of Belknap via Blue trail. Back doen to saddle, then white (Flintlock?) trail over top of Gunstock, over to Rowe, then down the jeep trail. Made it to the car about 30 seconds after the rain started in earnest. | ||

| Wanted to get out on Winnisquam - put in at Ahern and headed towards the N end of the lake - thought I'd try a bot of fishing. Breeze was pretty stiff, and I had problems getting the bow headed into the wind - wind kept on catching it and pushing me broadside to the waves.
Spent 20 minutes working my ass off and didn't make a lot of progress. Lost my straight-into-the-wind heading a couple of times and had a tough time getting back on track. Realized I wasn't having a great time, and decided to postpone. Easily turned and ran with the wind back to the beach. Was going to try again in the afternoon, but went to the Obama appearance downtown which was supposed to be at noon. Lots of security - police and Secret Service - had to go through the gauntlet to get into the seating area. Lots of press local and national. He didn't get there until 12:45, talked for a while, then I had to hang around while Beth and the other elected reps had some private time with the man. Didn't get home until almost 3, then bathroom construction was calling me... Maybe tomorrow. | ||

| Actually fishing, giving myself credit for the short hike up the river, some boulder bounding from one likely fishing hole to the next, and the quick walk back to the car.
Went to the East branch of the Pemi, just off the Kangamangus Hwy, Lincoln Woods parking area. Not a single nibble, but a great day anyway. Then back home and an hour or so chasing after 25 lbs of 17 month old. Now there's a packet of energy, until it all runs out and he just crashes... | ||
