Canoeing 1:10:00 [2]
On Winnisquam - put in at the end of the street near the outlet of the Winnpesaukee River into the lake. Headed N along the shoreline into the breeze, around a couple of very small islands. Some guys fishing, saw them pull in some good sized fish. Back S, then up the river, past the not yet opened boat launch, under the Water St bridges, to the right of the island and under the Main St bridge to just under the dam. Moderate current, was working hard, but not all out, to get under the last bridge. Has been a real struggle in the past to work against the current and get up that far.

More leisurely float back down. Chinburg's done a lot of cleanup at the building site, saving some of the larger timbers. Went around the other side of the island, a bit more of a channel here.

Was feeling it in my arms and back when I was done.
Walking (Lawn mowing) 45:00 [1]
The push reel mower just doesn't work well on the long stuff, so reverted to the motorized version for today. Dry and dusty, and loud.
Mtn Bike 43:30 [3] 6.3 km (6:54 / km) +100m 6:24 / km

Bike trails at Ahern. From easy double track, to moderate single track, to get off and walk so you don't kill yourself stuff. Someone's done a lot of work raking to make the trails visible. Need to check the O map to make sure it reflects what are now more than intermittent trails.

Followed by a dip in the lake -

Run (trails) 36:00 [3]
ahr:157 max:168 shoes: Brooks
Bike trails at Ahern - Frwd unit acting up, so I didn't get a good read on the distance or climb.

Heart rate seemed to be at tempo pace, but didn't seem like I was moving at a reasonable speed - just inefficient. Not too warm - mid-70s, with just a little breeze.

Went for a swim afterwards, parked outside the gate, although it still wasn't locked when I left at 7:15. Got eaten alive by the mosquitos walking down and back - took the straight path (with lots of grass) rather then the slightly longer dirt road. A lot of pollen in the water, but it was nice and cool.

AOWN: Interacted with 2 ticks and a couple gazillion mosquitos. Memories of an early morning at Ahern for an event a few years back when there were swarms of dragonflies all throughout the clearing by the beach, enjoying the hell out of the mosquitos. As I remember, the boys were mightily impressed.

Tuesday Jun 10

Run (Trail) 18:00 [3] 2.4 km (7:30 / km) +80m 6:26 / km
ahr:154 max:167 shoes: Brooks
Some heat training at Ahern, followed by a dip in the lake.

Mid-80s, down from the mid to upper 90s over the past few days. Breezy.

Was feeling very sluggish, decided to go take a dip, then figured might as well do a short run to make it all worthwhile. Worked out just as I planned.

Ahern loop along the lake, up on the bike trail, crossed over to the very twisty bike trail, over to the powerlines to the main loop and back down to the beach.
