Winant Trails in Concord - was down there for a Dr appt, figured a good chance to check out a new area.
A lot more trails than noted on the map and took me a bit to get the scale calibrated in my head - things coming up much faster than expected.
Got sidetracked onto a mtn bike trail - did some winding around along a hillside, not quite sure where I was or where I'd end up. Finally got back onto a blazed trail with some signs.
Some short sections with ice cover still - glad they were short.

3X Ahern loop trail - road down to the beach was hard/frozen still, most of the rest of the loop was ice or hardpack.
Darkness falling, along with a light mist - interesting effect with a headlamp.

Chilly ski at Gunstock - up into the 20s, but breezy and my tolerance for cooler temps has been waning, with the unseasonably high temps last week.

Just a few other folks out - looked like a HS team trying to do classic with no set track.
Pretty good conditions for much of it - some chopped up ice over hard base. A few short sections were just hard ice, with the occasional rock sitting right at the surface. Had one ski-rock encounter, resulting in a face plant, right in front of 3 tourers of course. Down on both knees and chest/face. Glad I wasn't moving too fast.

Very chilly run - spent the morning waiting for it to warm up, but it wasn't, so got out before it got colder.
This would have been a nightmare without studded shoes. Mostly ice and very hard packed snow. A few spots down to bare ground.
A light frosting of squall snow on much of the ice/hardpack.
Saw 3 people - all well bundled up, 5 dogs.
