Out playing in the snow again. Trails had been packed but not tracked. Some brave soul had been out skating - tough with 3+" of heavy powder on top.
Rubbed some T5 on tips and tails before heading out - seemed to work OK - glide was as good as it was going to be with this snow.
Skins were great - good grip/kick - couldn't be too sloppy in technique or they would slide back.

Getting out to see what the base is like before the next big dump. There was just a dusting, so could easily see the many thin spots and rocks sticking up. Along the powerlines and up the Cobble S, then out Birch, Maple to the top of the hill and back, to the lollipop, then back along Birch and complete the Cobble reverse.
They'd groomed quite a bit last night, with little traffic earlier in the day, so it was fairly pristine.
Started around 6 and still plenty of light when I was done.

Things chilled, set up very nicely overnight and with the groomers working there magic conditions were great once again. Hard and fast just about everywhere.
A few thin spots, but easy to get around.
More energy than yesterday - a Gu just before I started then another at about 50 minutes.

XC Ski - Classic 33:09 intensity: (1:13 @0) + (8:16 @1) + (23:33 @2) + (7 @3) 5.52 km (6:01 / km) +81m 5:36 / km

Stopped in the XC center, chatted with Kale and Jane for a bit. Kale had mounted my new Skintecs, so after a short break, swapped boots and headed out for a quick test.
No wax on the glidey parts and the skins grabbed a bit on softer stuff at first, so was lurching a bit.
Got in the tracks in the stadium and they were great.
Figured out:
1) Skins aren't going to grab well on chunky/lumpy hard granular.
2) Very hard glazed sections are problematic as well.
3) It takes a few minutes for the skiing muscles to switch from skating to classic - don't rush it.

Think this was a good buy - will be nice to be able to grab and go in variable conditions when classic is in order. Will need to see how they do in several inches of fresh powder.
