Pre-turkey time outing. Gilford Elementary, up the Benjamin Weeks trail to the Ridge trail to the summit of Gunstock. Much chillier up top than at the bottom, with some breeze coming across the ridge. Blowing snow up top - had to warm up my phone to keep it from turning off as I snapped a few pictures.
A dog and his human appeared just as I was ready to head back down - they'd come up the Overlook trail.

Run 41:45 intensity: (1:13 @0) + (13:34 @1) + (23:19 @2) + (3:39 @3) 5.07 km (8:14 / km) +133m 7:17 / km

And the run down. Nothing like a nice downhill run once properly warmed up to make an old guy feel likes there's still some speed in the legs.
Saw another couple shortly before the flats near the top of the Tiger lift.

One face plant when bottom of my shoe snagged on a rock, glad I had on gloves. Downhill face plants tend to be more dramatic than uphill ones - more speed and a larger angle to rotate the upper body through before contact is made with the ground. Minor scrape on the forearms, gloves kept my palms from being embedded with gravel.

Late afternoon session at Weeks Woods - enough light to walk/trace some of the logged areas on the E side and note a few boulders interspersed.

Ready to head back to the car and reach down to check my phone - and there's empty space in the holster where the phone should be. Did I leave it in the car? No, I remember it buzzing when an email came in at some point. Sign, start to back track in the fading light, pull out my headlamp (which I had with me for the first time other than for a known after-dark run). Be-bopping thought the woods, crawling over slash, checking out wet spots. About to give up and make plans to head to the Verizon store in the morning, when I spot a dark, regular-shaped object - yay!!!

Blue Hill Traverse - A grand adventure.
The bobbles
#16 - 4 minutes. Heading along the upper trail, looking at options for 16-17 and 17-18 and lost track of where I was. Dropped down and around too soon, kept going on lower level below the high contour. Bailed to the lower trail junction, then climbed up to it.
# 23 - on line, across the low-lying area, then entered the twilight zone. Got to the clearings, then got flustered and took off without checking my compass. Circled around to the south and west and ended back at the clearing. Saw Clint and decided the way he was going would work. Couldn't make sense of much of anything on this section of the map - fumbled in and passed Clint just before the end.
Watch had reset at the start, so I had to regain satellite lock. My download splits seem off - Time 0 to #1??
