Great course - European style trails - uneven, twists and turns, pay attention or you're heading into the woods.

Started a couple minutes behind Ernst - and it was quickly apparent that my lack of training this winter was going to be a large factor today. Ernst was not getting into the map - ran into him several times when he should have been far ahead of me.

After some lunch and downtime, headed out to do some non-competitive score-O / just riding around. Wider trails were mostly OK as long as I stayed on the more packed part - narrow trails were much tougher.

Cold out there - well, it is winter. Along Rowe ridge, then part way up the Ridge Trail toward the summit. Getting chilled and short on time, so turned around a headed back.

Has my saw and loppers with me - took out a few bent over birches and quite a few branches that were down into the trail.
