Gilford Elem - up Rowe via Ben Weeks Trail, then Ridge Trail to summit of Gunstock. Saw 4 skiers skinning up the Ridge Trail - 1 came by me moving pretty well as I was heading up, then a single guy and couple on my way down. Breezy up closer to the summit, wind coming up the hill from the west. Some tricky sections where the trail goes through the steep side-hill rocky part.
Good views today, appreciate where the openings were created for that purpose.
Came down Ridge Trail, stayed on that over to Rowe, then down the Blue Trail. Finished up along the nature trail around the marsh just behind the school.

Light snow falling pretty much all day, maybe 3" in total. Layered on top of some pretty solid hardpack and ice which was pretty uneven from a lot of walkers over the past few days. Not so deep that herringboning up the few steeper hills was an issue. Fun downhills - focus in stepping around corners rather than trying to snowplow turn - generally not a lot of lateral clearance.
Did leave tracks in one place to provide amusement to those out there in the next couple days - angled off the trail and straddled a small sapling (5' high, but fortunately small enough that it bent over rather than staying up straight) when I couldn't get my skis to cooperate in stepping around.

Green Woodlands from the N Dorchester Trailhead. Started off over dressed and carrying too much in my small backpack. So-so on the waxing - Extra Blue - probably needed some klister underneath to help out. Slipping way too much.
Mostly shuffling along, downhills were great fun though.
Grooming was probably from Friday. Tracks, where they exited were in good shape. Skating lanes pretty smoothed out.

Back to the truck to change into dry stuff and have some lunch. Debated calling it a day - was pretty beat - but grabbed the other skis and headed back out. Not much oomph left, but was moving faster than on classic skis. 10 Mile Rd trail is a long uphill - knew it would be worth it when it came time to head back down.
Should have had a couple of GUs - not really keto-friendly, but necessary if I'm going to do a long ski and not feel like a 90-year-old flailing around and creeping slowly up hills.
Moderate number of folks out on the trails today.
Spitting light snow for the last few minutes.
