Evening explore of a new area - Kelley-Drake Conservation area on the W side of Pemigewasset Lake. Nice little trail network, some areas could stand some tending.
Right before dusk - the liberal application of bug spray was just enough to keep me from being eaten alive.

Kayaking 25:00 [1]

Quick spin around the island on Pemigewasset Lake as it was getting darker. Had the lake to myself.
Calm and peaceful

Got a late start, but it was mostly overcast and on the cool side. Closed out a section, then a quick trip over to the next entry point for a quick loop to get a general sense.

Saw a Barred Owl looking down at me - fortunately it wasn't that hungry, so I escaped.

Sky Pond State Forest and vicinity in New Hampton - overlooking Lake Winona. I came in the hard way, up the hill from the S side on a very washed out old road. Topped out and found the loop I was looking for - a nice trail. Partly recently used logging trail and sections that I assume had been logging trail, but that had been smoothed out and seeded with grass. Explored some side trails - short spur out to the ledges overlooking the lake, a couple others that ended up in clearings, some that just sort of petered out and one that headed down the hill on the N side with a No Trespassing sign about 300 m down.
Some really thick stuff - newer growth from a cut maybe 10 years ago - plenty of nice open as well.
