Orienteering race 40:31 [5] 4.5 km (9:00 / km) +160m 7:39 / km
British Middle Distance Champs - Stanton Moor
Overshot 1 and the too far right on 2 so not a good start..... got it back together through to 8 where went left of crags and got confused and dropped too low (should have gone simple route to left!)... came out too far south to 9 and saw Jason Inman as I was coming out (caught me for 4 minutes!!)
Got away from him through easy bit (he made 1 minute error at 10).... then brain just went at end..... came out of 20, didn't check compass carefully enough and went far to far left.... as I was going back in Jason was coming out,,, red mist set in and I tried to chase him down and forgot to go to 22 until I was c.200m past!!
In total lost c. 6 minutes.... 4 minutes of that were just stupid simple errors!!! Frustrating really. Running speed looks good, even in heather where only Steve Watkins was much quicker....
11th (again)! - winner Steve Watkins 32:47

Pretty easy, just about recovered from cold but a bit sluggish at start
silly mistake to 4 (i.e. nearly forgot to go to it!!) and then messed up 9 and got caught by Jason Inman and then by Richard Barrett. We then all finished pretty much together

Caught out (like many) on way to 6 where circle was cut and it looked like you could get between buildings!! then went left, instead of right to get to control!!
Confused by levels at 10 and went up steps and then went wrong side of wall
Bad route choice to 15 and caught by Colin Dutkiewicz, he missed 21 so I got back ahead, only for me to go to wrong building at 22, Colin then missed 25 so I managed to finish ahead of him
