Welsh Long Distance Championships - Sugarloaf

Changed up to Brown from Short Brown as fancied some extra distance. Good fun, lovely woods and runnable open bits.

Overshot no.1 as was too high - should have stayed low by stream rather than contouring - 1 min

Too far left on 17 - 30 secs
18 - too low - 30 secs
20 - went to crags too early - 30 secs
22 - went straight from 21 to 23 and then had to climb back up - then missed it (must have gone straight passed but kite had fallen down) - 5 mins

Possibly could have been low 70's but nowhere near Clive's 62!!!!

Never felt I really pushed it and felt pretty fresh running back to finsih

Welsh Middle Distance Championships

Pretty mediocre performance again.... one big mistake on 3, where I left two 90 degrees out and wasn't sure where I crossed track, then was too high so relocated from building/path junction back on track

Need to work on speed where terrain is slightly rougher, as was good in the fast bits and not too far off speedy Phil (apart from near the end!!!)

Enjoyable course, but probably a bit short as was won in sub 23 (by a previous mapper of the area).... should have been around the 30 min mark I guess

Tempted to change to Brown tomorrow for some extra distance on the hill

3 x 5:16-5:30 (c900m 42m 14% at steepest) - Rough stoney path followed by smoother and flatter track
3 x 1:42-1:46 (c.150m 12m 16.1% at steepest) - grass

Jog recovery back down

3km run out and 3k back
