Running race 46:55 [3] 8.5 km (5:31 / km) +349m 4:35 / km

Coppett Hill Fell Race (New race from Goodrich)

Nice route, taking it staedy up road up first hill and then up steps to trig point, then descended reasonably (for me). Felt good up the next hill, but then started to hurt and I let my left achilles niggle get to my head and took it steady from there on.

First race, apart from orienteering since FoD Half in April

22nd, 7th Vet 40 (only one V50 ahead, but also a MV60 and a WV50)

Black Mountains Run

Started from top of Gospel Path and ran up to Lord Herefords Knob, around ridge to trig point, then a lovely ridge run to Chwarel y Fan..... I was enjoying the ridge run so much that I had put my map away and I should have turned off the ridge 1km earlier at Blacksmiths Anvil, but didn't even see a path.... oh well, returned and then dropped off edge to Capel-y-ffin. Decided to stay on left of valley on edge of access area to join the bridleway back up to Lord Herefords Knob.

The valley was stupidly hot as it was out of the breeze, whic had been loevely on the ridge. Stopped short on the fonal climb,as was running out of water and decoded 2 hours was enough in this heat.

Glad of the water in the stream in valley to dip my cap in and wet my head.
