Cycling - Turbo Trainer 1:13:31 [3] 39.78 km (32.5 kph) +236m

Turbo session helped by new fan and Chemical Brothers

Rubbish Day - was supposed to be orienteering in Dorset, but that was postponed due to storm Alex (which just made today grey, wet and miserable and not a lot else - at least long range forecast for next weekend looks better and the event has been rearranged for Saturday) and all BAOC events put on hold due to new restriction of 30 civilians at o events on military areas (now what to do with my remaining leave this year!).

Orienteering race 1:28:10 [3] 11.06 km (7:58 / km) +276m 7:05 / km

MLS Long Valley South - Brown

A game of two halves.... first half - after 1 and 2 (3-16) satisfactory, second half bad (17-27)!!

Lost a minute on 1, basically becasue I could find a way through the gorse (mapped as wide green hash!!), but knew exactly where I wanted to be, so ended up coming back in from south.

2 - Another minute lost - too far right and wrong side of a large (unmapped) gully

Slow to 3, as lost 10 minutes here on a control last time (30 secs)

14-15 got on wrong mtb track and ran longer than necessary (30 secs)

17 - too far left and ended up on bank by wrong ditch, convincing myself I was in right place. Took a while to see bank to NW (2:30)

17-18 poor route out of control and ended up in some crap - 40 secs

18-19 stupidly ended up wrong side of southern pond by crossing bridge - 1 minute

21 - tried to approach from NW but did not see gap in mapped gorse bushes - went through first gap and gorse to south was much closer than mapped, so very confused - ended up coming in from west and did not see the supposed gap I was trying to come in from (i.e. map here was shite and it was a totally unfair control site!) - 2:30

25 - just dodn't see pit (30 secs)

26 too far right and ended up near track - 1:30

27 - couldn't understand map and went too far right (30 secs)

13 minutes lost!!!! (some of mistakes towards end were probably down to tiredness or just losing concentration after 21!!

Running 53:06 [3] 9.23 km (5:45 / km) +230m 5:07 / km

BOK Run from Charlcombe Inn

Not sure if done this route before, but lovely route. Light playing up on big climb to Kelston Round Hill.

Definitely going better than last week and giving Hoka's again and they were very good and no issues with ankle.

Orienteering - Mountain Bike 2:49:47 [3] 43.01 km (15.2 kph) +870m

Radnage 3-hour MTBO Actually riding for 3:02:26

Fun ride, some lovely bridleways. Hard along ridge heading directly into cold north wind.

Obviously not awake at start, as took a wrong bridleway and almost ended up back at start (doh!), also missed another bridleway turn towards end. Lovely last bridleway before the last hill on road.
