Orienteering 1:15:08 [3] 12.53 km (6:00 / km) +242m 5:28 / km

Pomphrey Hill Sprint O - 15:21 (Scott 13:02)

Missed the very small path to 3

4-5 would have been quicker heading back towards 2, as no way through from cycle path for a while going north.

Rodway Common Sprint O - 14:32 (Scott 12:23)

Lost paths 1-2 and climbed too high

Missed first (very small) path to 8 and went quite a way up wrong path before realising

Caught out by tunnel to 11 and turned down first path instead of going through tunnel at first, so had to go back

Kingswood East SEVOL - 49:54 (Scott 42:18)

6-7 went out to road, but gate was locked back into park, so had to go back via 6 and other way (path closed for temp works unfortunately)

Went straight from 10 to 12 (11 on the direct line between) - luckily Usylingo plays a different tune when at a later control)

13 - 14 couldn't go straight across open as there was a football match on, then ended up going longer way round than needed.

18 took a while to register, but it registered on track up to 17

39 - 40 (yes there were lots of controls!) went to 41 first - luckily not a lot further, but not quite best route

careful with checking description on 42 to see which side of wall
Scott was mapper and planner for all three - all good fun - had a few issues reading map on sprints at times, but more down to my eyesight and tryong to run hard at same time. All good fun.

Running 56:12 [3] 9.47 km (5:56 / km) +268m 5:12 / km

Wotton Under Edge Recce for BOK Tuesday run (27th Oct)

Starting form Chipping car park and out via Syme Lane and Clarence Road to join footpath across Ozleworth Brook and across fields to Nind Lane, up lane and across Wortley Road and up Tor Hill on bridleway to Cotswold Way, down Cotswold Way back towards Wortley and left at track junction, following track all way until end and right on smaller path into Newark Park, short orange loop and back through car park and fields to rejoin Cotwold Way on Blackquarries Hill, down lane and right down steep hill on CW and follow all way back into Wotton.

Nice route and hopefully easy for others to follow.

Orienteering - Mountain Bike 3:18:03 [3] 46.62 km (14.1 kph) +1245m

Devauden/Chepstow Wood Virtual MBO

Was umming and strong this morning as to whether do this, go for a run or stay in bed as had bad stomach cramps, glad I go out and did this today. Good fun and no issues with stomach.

Looks like similar route to Ifor and distance wise a little closer to him than other recent efforts.

Blues first. Had to stop on steep, very narrow road climb between 14 and 12 as car coming down and only way to pass was for me to go up bank, hard to getting going again, but made it.

Overshot 8 (didn't see path down) and ended up on track bend beyond.

Track down in to Tintern from 8 was a bit iffy (for me anyway) and then had to walk a lot of track back up to 6. Would have been much quicker staying on main track from 8 and zig zagged, down to yellow road and back up road and track to 6, the way I cam down, after changing to reds at 7.

Missed road turning to 17, as it looked like a driveway and ended up climbing and coming back down via no. 1 - which was only a 10 pointer. It was a nice path between 1 and road though.

Overshot 19 as didn't see track straight on (getting tired, as should have realised I was going around a bend).

Back via 23 and 27. Knew I was going to be very late, but as these were both 30 pointers, it was just worthwhile, as got net score of 36 from them.

Orienteering race 1:26:30 [3] 11.1 km (7:48 / km) +232m 7:03 / km

Aggleston - Brown

Really struggling at start though the rough stuff, but got going a little bit better later.

S-1 didn't quite get to path and very slow going though tussoc/gorse/heather - 1 minute

3 - too far north and then struggled to work out mapped gorse which control was on - 1 minute

4 - Awful - wat too far left once across crossing point and could not work out where I was for ages, so a bit of wandering around like a headless chicken - 4-6 minutes

5 - drifted left and ended in some rougher stuff - 30 secs

After that, was a lot better, although not particularly quick, especially when it got a bit rough - couple of small errors on last control where almpst went up wrong reentrant and then despite being high above control, just did not see it in reentrant and ended slightly too high up the reentrant it was in - 1 minute
