NGOC League - Birdlip

Great to get out orienteering again, and a new area. Typical steep Cotswold escarpment, but lovely woods and just good to get out. Finished a very long way behind Alastair Landels!!

Orienteering ok, although possibly not best routes all the time. I really struggled with the steepness though and something weird with my breathing. I felt like I needed a sit down a few times, so that's not good. Also, getting a really stuffed up nose (noticed this on the climbs on the bike recently too).

Feeling shivery at home, which isn't great.

Running 8:42 [3] 1.54 km (5:39 / km) +7m 5:31 / km

Cycling - Road 2:13:46 [3] 60.5 km (27.1 kph) +652m

Out to Stroud via Frocester and Leonard Stanley - Slad Climb - then back via Cranham and Painswick and through Stroud to Ebley and back same way as far as Coaley.

Back to long bottoms, but sun was out, so not too cold and wind not too bad either.

Running 1:24:38 [3] 14.6 km (5:48 / km) +392m 5:07 / km

Tonight was supposed to be a big night.... the first run this year with company................. but no bugger turned up except Martn, who was supposed to be leading the group, but injured his back yesterday, so wasn't running!

Still, a lovely loop in the woods on a wonderful warm evening, seeing virtually nobody, but saw 2 Muntjac and 3 Roe Deer.

Felt heavy legged, but pace not actually too bad, with the hills.... the dry trails probably help though.

CW to Coaley Peak - Cockidilly - Owlpen - Elcombe

Felt yesterday's run in legs, but got it done.

Was going to be a cycle today, but didn't fancy the wind and with clock change and warm weather forecast for tomorrow, will aim to get out then.
