Orienteering race (DNC Crathes) 48:15 [5] 5.27 km (9:09 / km) +111m 8:17 / km
shoes: VJ Integrator

Planned distance - 4.8km (so less than 10% over run!!!)

Started behind Jon and never saw him again but Ross caught me at #2 by sneaking up through the crags - better eyesight than me and being able to read the map, i guess! Managed to keep his bobbing torch in sight and passed him on #5 as he was too far right - i kept left until i could see the corner of the wall, which was a good AP. I lost him half way to #7 and never saw him again. RH around for a few legs but managed to lose at #17.

All round steady run and only really slowed in a couple of places by windblow (going into #10 - understand Ross passed Job here, as the younger too a route to the right and used the paths).

Managed to overshoot #11 but Quickroute shows i ran within about 10m of it initially? A bit left with route coming into #14 but nothing major.

Nice way to finish the DNC - 3rd place behind Ross and Jon. Had RC by 10" and Jenny by 41" - close race! Looks like Drew messed up #7 (been bitten in there before!) otherwise could have been very close for 3rd?!

I hope some of these young pretenders stay on the short next year or us old guys are going to be well down the pecking order - need to keep training hard to keep an even keel with them!

Steady run 21:40 [3] 4.0 km (5:25 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Cumulus 12

Estimated distance as no Garmin today!

Missed my lunchtime slot due to work but got out at 5 for a circuit on the road from Brathens, down to bridge at Glassel then back up to make a circle. Rain came on, so glad i had a thermal on!
8 PM

Road bike (Turbo) 45:00 [3]

Hard time trial session at turbo. Not been for a while but able to grind it out - felt good and no issues afterwards! :-)
