Run 50:00 [3] 5.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

Slight shin splints; pretty stiff going up first hill but got better. Snow blows. Can it be summer yet?

Riding (Stretching/Rest) 1:00:00 [2]

Horse was a pill so I rode longer than expected. "Rest" day turned into an actual workout. Good for core!

Run hills 37:00 [3] 4.0 mi (9:15 / mi)

Up and down Saddle Road from the Y to the red fire hydrant twice. Felt good; full recovery on the way back down. Small twinge in middle of butt; left knee slightly iffy toward the end of the second hill. Not looking forward to running that thing after 12 miles in the HM.

Run tempo 50:00 [3] 5.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

Weather sucked; run felt good! Had energy during pick-ups; was able to really push it to the end...the last 100 yards, at least. Pace was decent; was able to maintain a conversation for most parts of the run. Maybe I should learn to save my breath. My legs pretty much turn into machine-parts after 2 miles; don't hurt but tend to just keep going without any direction from the brain. I don't know how I feel about being a robot. I also don't think I've ever run 5 miles in my entire life. Skiew!

Body a little stiff afterward; calf muscles are a bit sore to the touch.

Snow Walk (Active Rest) 1:00:00 [2] 4.0 km (15:00 / km)

Took dog to North Fork trails. Got yelled at by some lady for not wearing snowshoes on the snowshoe trail. It's a SNOWSHOE/WALKING trail, Lady! Read the sign!! Don't get mad at me because the snow is so packed that snowshoes are ridiculous and you're going arduously slow while I blast past you in my Nike snow boots! Really pissed about lady yelling at me; ruined the beautiful day. Thinking about writing her up in Miscellany II section of Idaho Mountain Express. She was wearing a spaghetti-strap tanktop and she must have been in her mid-50's at least. I should probably write her up for that, too. Indy had a blast; what a dog.
