Thursday: Possibly training with Crusaders possibly rest
Friday: I had planned to do something on Friday. Who knows what it is.
Saturday: Would like to do some technical o training.
Sunday: Is Carlingford still on? if so maybe that would be nice.

Climbing with Conor, Colm Eoin and Cillin. Good craic. Was climbing pretty poorly but still fun and I felt less weak than on Saturday. I might do the class thing next week and get some pointers. Really good fun though.

Slept funny on my back and now it hurts to breathe. Thanks body. Much needed rest day today I think. It's been a tough week back and considering I'm coming off injury I don't want to train too much and feck it up again. Hopefully all the niggles will settle.

Feeling a lot better than last week. Bloods should be back tomorrow. Just in time right? Got a lift to the hill run tonight so hopefully I should be ok for that. Think I pulled a muscle in my stomach somewhere. It's a bit sore sitting down but is fine when I'm standing. Bit strange but I hope its ok.

Will have my doma updated with this weeks training tonight hopefully.

Brockagh IMRA.

Pretty tired after the weekend but it was good fun. Kept running until the ferny part. Leg turn over was pretty bad on the downhill. The muscles are just tired.

Most prevalent feature of the night was the swarms of flies and midges though. Was actually inhaling them at one point.

Beautiful area. Wish I had felt this good at the weekend.

Got very turned around on the third controls. Was trying to make a 180 but the map wasn't matching. didn't visit the control site of 4 which is bad. Should write numbers in future. Very roundabout ways to controls.

Ruairi shadowed me around this and made me say everything I was seeing. Really helped with concentration. We stopped at each control to discuss the leg for a little while. Very helpful tips and I feel like I orienteered pretty well except for the end of the longish one. Did a very Regina move of doing a 90 degree very close to the control due to uncertainty.

There were plenty of highs and lows to take from this race.

A lot of the controls I actually orienteered pretty well (eg 11,20) and for the most part I was clicking with the map. I didn't handle it well when it stopped making sense to me though and any relocations (see 5) weren't great unless they were only small.

Maybe it was due to lingering sickness but I just felt physically awful like I couldn't run normally or something which was not improved by the blisters forming on the heels.

Biggest problem with this day was that I wasn't approaching it as a race. I'm very bad for actually putting 100% into a race not just focus which I had mostly but effort. A lot of times I found myself having to push myself into a jog.

I've decided I do want to run WOC at some point which means really upping my game over the next year or two. Will be fun to see how it goes.

TLDR: Must take racing more seriously

Not ready to untick that injured box yet. Knees weren't sore but they were a bit unresponsive. Still feeling a little loose. Still though. Progress :D

Feeling awful today. Might take a half sick day and go to bed. See how I am for climbing after.

Update: Still not feeling great but have decided to stay in work.

Climbing with Conor. Good craic. New greens. Tried hard on many. So hot and really sweaty so some of the holds were mankey.

My lovely callouses are returning to me. Soon I will be able to do slopers again!

In other news I got bloods taken today because of how weak and tired I've been feeling for the past while. Hopefully there's nothing wrong or it's just a virus but its better to be sure. Arm got a bit swelly afterwards so using my right arm for strength stuff was tough. Gonna be a big bruise there tomorrow I'd say.

Some of the knee pain has eased off but legs still feeling weird. Cycling wasn't bad this morning so at least I can do that. Going climbing tonight as well. Hope I'm ok by Wednesday for the hill run.

Climbed until failure pretty much. Everything is tired now, abs arms legs. Perfect.

Really nice climbing session with Ruth, Don and Conor. Don got me all excited about the climbing so I flew up some easy ones and then got super tired. So shaky for the whole thing. Probably my highest avg heart rate for a climbing session but who measures these things. Good fun.

Nice hard Cycle to climbing and home. Woo exercise!

Knees are still pretty sore after the weekend. Might have something to do with how tight the muscles are above it on the inside of the legs.

Will try to early start Scarr to get my races in this year but will prob just walk.

So went out with the early starters to try to stop myself from pushing the knee too much. Kind of worked though I did run a good bit more than intended. That downhill is just so tempting.

Felt really strong from the quads up. Lower body is a mess. Going to give it a rest for the next two days and hopefully it will recover well. might try a bit of cycling on friday.
