Running warm up/down 11:49 [3] 1.38 km (8:32 / km)

Orienteering race (Long) 2:45:20 [3] 17.44 km (9:29 / km) +250m 8:51 / km

POM day 1.

My Garmin literally could not handle how long I was out for. I don't have a gpx of it now. Really should have uploaded it. Now I know I suppose. I was not prepared for this at all. Huge mistakes all over the place, most notably on 1, 10,11,13.

I could not make myself see the grid of paths. My mind blocked them out half the time and I really suffered for it. Wasn't making plans really and wasn't looking for attackpoints. Really sloppy orienteering. got very tired at the end but mostly the running didn't feel too bad. Nice terrain if a bit sandy.

Running warm up/down 12:18 [3] 1.03 km (11:57 / km)

Orienteering race (Sprint ) 23:01 [3] 3.89 km (5:55 / km)

POM day 0 - Sprint

I was planning on taking this really easy. I was going too fast for my ability to read the map though and it showed at 7 and 13 where I made two big mistakes. About 1:30/2 each. Disappointing really.

7 I didn't pay attention to which channel I was going down and ended up making a paralell error.
13 was bad compass work and just not reading the map.

The sprint was good fun though. It wasn't particularly technical which makes the mistakes even worse.

Positives: Running felt good, quick decision making
Negatives: Bad map contact. no planning ahead, pretty bad relocation.

Running warm up/down 19:31 [3] 2.24 km (8:44 / km)

Note

No training tonight. Was hoping I'd get home in time for a run but was in work til 8 so didn't really happen. Bring on the holidays!

Note

Gonna do some training tonight woo!

Dunno If I'll run with Susan's group or not. I'll have a chat with her and see what she thinks is best.

Also have that talk by Chris Jones World class distance running coach after training and it should be really beneficial. Looking forward to it.

Half a session in prep for Portugal so a stair instead of a pyramid.

Happy I was only doing half. People went off with the next group up and I tried to keep on. Died a bit on the third one.

Left the garmin running so edited the time to something reasonable
