C group ride on the massive Four Horsemen route. I thought I was being nice waiting at the top of the volcano for the beacon. He shot past me and then descended really fast, leaving me a long way behind. I then had to work at 100% for ages to get back on. Stayed with the group until halfway up the Alpe when I was knackered and overheating. Got off the bike about turn 6 for some food and drink. Struggled back on my own after that, but got the badge. In the end there were only a handful of people who did the whole thing.

Was much better than yesterday, felt pretty good. Got about 10 mins away and felt my L calf tighten up. Remembered what happened last time but still didn't stop in time and twang - the minor muscles in my left calf pulled. Hobbling walk home.
