Orienteering 1:23:15 [4] 8.9 km (9:21 / km)
shoes: Salomon Speedcross 3 Black

TOC Wed nights have begun. As the girl's soccer is on Wed nights starting in a few weeks, I figured I'd better take the chance to get out now while I can. Also, had never run on the High Park map, so wanted to explore in there.
Saw WandAR and her 5am run buddies trying their second Orienteering session of the week. Saw Mark I on the trail and then did the final couple CPs with Long Sault Longshot Dad & son. Park is bigger than I realized, with some good terrain in there, although the older map didn't show a fenced off forest regen area, which meant a bad route choice. Wildlife included a raccoon and lots of people, including a few small groups of people I suspect having their own little "420" celebrations. Thanks to Malcolm for hosting.

Orienteering race 1:29:00 [4] 6.0 km (14:50 / km)

Mrs. W and the girl at Ball Hockey, so the boy and I headed for the Mob Match in Sunnybrook Park. I knew Jan had spent a lot of time planning and he put on a challenging course. The boy was gassed after some early climbs and we missed the first migrating control by 2 minutes, after which I decided we would just cruise along at whatever pace worked. He was pretty steady, although a couple time I suggested he could chill while I did an "up and back" climb for some higher CPs. Heading home, I told him we could grab another 20 pointer if we hustled and he was good to go.
Stunning day and seems like a good time had by all. Great work by Jan, Amber, Malcolm, Raymond and others.

Trail Run 1:02:00 [3] 6.11 km (10:09 / km)
shoes: Salomon Speedcross 3 Black

A rare free Sat. morning so out in the valley to remember how to run. 3 sets of stair repeats on the way back.

Mtb Bike 1:36:54 [3] 12.57 km (7.8 kph)

Post Raptor playoff loss, I came home and was informed that I had to get the boy & his friend "out of the house to do something". Jumped on our bikes and did my loop up to Sunnybrook and back. Trails mostly dry. Riding behind our friend's 11 yr old son (who arguably hasn't ridden that much) who was all over the bike and the trail, I realized how good a rider my boy is becoming. Lots of fun rides ahead.
