deception. today i ran 3 miles at what was suppose to be 10, 9.45, 930 splits but failed on the last mile when left to myself to keep my time. at 24 i was thinking oh good i have more than 10 minutes left when really that would have been 36 not 26 grrr i only realized this at the 26 when it was too late to really do anything about it.
shins hurt a little again today so i will be stretching icing and medication. yay lg gives me an entire shift to stretch :]

jessica is back and only a minute or so faster than me. i ran alone today after the 1st 1/2 mile. making myself run harder is a lot different than making myself keep up with someone. but i prevailed! with a time even faster than my last 2 and my own little molly cheering me on in me head :]

confession: i havent even considered logging my times in the event of the internet connection progressing to an unbearable slow when and if it worked at all. this is not an attempted excuse. it is simply the reason why even though i kept and remembered my times not all that are considered unforgettable are. and the scribblings on yesterdays newspaper or on the edge of a note before i moved to the door might have been miss placed or probably thrown out in the recycling if i were to be honest. that being said all times between july 11th and 21 are debatable. but thats what i came up with.

today i was overjoyed to find that the death run i completed with coach the other day held all of the burning and exhaustion at bay. but i had something else tugging at me to slow down. sophie. the roles were flipped and i found myself spitting almost the exact encouragement i had received the morning before to my duple. this was great because i knew to an intense degree what she was feeling and what would allow her to keep going. letting both coaches inch ahead with every step and we lost sight when a drink was all sophie would allow us to do and since we were both so drenched in our own sweat that i couldnt pull her along :] i kept a firm pace and even though it did not keep up with the two gurus what do you know! it kept us 55 minutes under 30 which was the goal.

today is right up there with the down pour. i am amazed at sophies raw ability to run under 30 after her long absence and [i wont lie] a little smug at myself for pushing her so much. even literally. i cant wait for tomorrows run because if sophie has the same come back as i had today tomorrow the doppelgangers will be back and believe me i will have competition

ps. my internet connection is fixed

Running 29:49 [3] 3.0 mi (9:56 / mi)

death to all running! why oh why were my calves already burning before e even reached the 1/2 mile mark?! running with coach today is hard to explain i was using everything to stay with him and everything else to keep my mind far far away from that fact that i was almost there. conversation helps and coach always has something very interesting if not off beat to keep my mind preoccupied even if it is about my running in the future. ha! the best response i can give is the forced laughter that doesnt really pass as laughter if you think about it.

heat in my calves moved up till it settled down in my hips. i caught myself wondering if it would keep going so then i could deal with it better and have all of my legs to take on the mountainous task of staying with coach and dropping my time at least 2 minutes for every mile. at mile 3 i checked to make sure nothing like some knees or other pain might force us to stop at 2 [God forbid] and trust me my coach is NOT an old man :]
