Orienteering race (Earls Trails Red) 1:33:40 [4] 6.0 km (15:37 / km)
shoes: Oroc 280

Bright sunny day, warm, getting too warm for me.

Knew that red was too much for me, but Phil insisted. Quite the hike. Really focused on direction today, and it helped. No giant mistakes. Just one notable miss, but recovered OK.

Nice course by Will, who also seemed to have everything running smoothly. Thanks a bunch for a great event.

Orienteering race (Town Forest Park) 1:01:51 [3] 4.5 km (13:45 / km)
shoes: Oroc 280

Nice bright sunny day, mid 70s.

Another no legs day, but at least the O went a bit better than Tuesday. Still making tons of daft rookie level errors, but at least no big disaster legs like on Tuesday.

Nevertheless, still managed to DNF by doing a never-done-that-before orienteering messup ... forgetting to punch a control. My only theory is that when I got to #1 my O brain must have still been in "phil's training course mode", and so I just touched the flag instead of punching. Very bizarre, and yes, also pretty funny.

Walk/Hike 1:00:00 [1] 4.0 mi (15:00 / mi)

Feeling beat up so skipped the 5K and went for a walk instead.

Orienteering (Norwotuck) 1:30:00 [4]
shoes: Oroc 280

Nice weather, sunny, 70's. Legs felt better too. But, oy, terrible navigation. Totally lost contact not once but twice. Guess that's why we call it training. Only comfort is that others had trouble too.

And another fine post training recovery session.
