Run (Outside - Trail) 6:38:04 [3] 20.0 mi (19:54 / mi)
shoes: Leadville 100

Wow, super tough run!

Twin Lakes (no river crossing) over Hope Pass to Winfield then back from Winfield to over Hope Pass back to Twin Lakes

Toughest part was Winfield back up to Hope Pass.

I pushed hard on the downhill back to Twin Lakes - wow, that seemed to take forever - so ready to be done.

Leg hurting a tad on the downhill but blister hurting more.

Great run!

May Queen to Twin Lakes - not bad at all!

Nice, easy run in 95 degree weather. No push, just enjoying the scenery of the Snow Canyon State Park.

Trying to get used to the elevation. Started at about 3045 feet, max was 3373 feet, total elevation gain was 505 feet.

Here are my splits:

Mile 1: 11:03 m/mile
Mile 2: 10:52 m/mile

Mile 4: 9:46 m/mile
Mile 5: 8:55 m/mile
Mile 6: 8:20 m/mile
Mile 6.28: 8:47 m/mile

felt really good and was able to speed up as I warmed up!

Run #3, 4 or 5 - 45 min easy flat run

Hotel workout - somewhere in Utah

Felt like I needed a good hard sweat

Was very physically fatigued but had great mental energy
- needed something kind of hard workout
- but also needed something to make the flat at 6.0 mph easier, make sense?

- did little hill climbs but not too hard, just enough that it made it
easier on the flat at 6.0 mph

- then started doing little sprints, up to 7.0 mph for :20 then for :30 sec
- did quite a few!
- felt great at the end and went a little longer
- I know this is recovery but I just needed something
- also, not sure the elevation, but I felt it
