Run 1: 2:15:00 flat road run at an easy, steady pace with slight negative splits.

This was definitely not negative splits... at least I don't think so. I decided to go out with the Lululemon Marine Corps Marathon Training Crew - big mistake. Our "leader/ambassador" is a 2:50 marathoner... yeah. We started way to fast for me to be able to keep up for all 14 miles.

At 4 miles, she broke off, as she was only doing 10 miles - HA!! I wanted to make sure I hit the 2 hr 15 min mark and I figured 14 miles would get me there. I ended up pushing way too hard and this run really hurt!!!

I can't really consider this a negative split, although I could have easily done it if I had been on my own but it was nice to see a 14 mile run that averaged under 9s!!

Run 2: 60:00 flat/rolling road or trail run with 5 x 3:00 surges at 10K race pace.
a. 15:00 at Easy Pace.
b. When you feel fully warmed up, do 5 x 3:00 surges at 10K race pace for the terrain you are on.
c. Take 2:00 - 3:00 at Easy Pace in between each surge.
d. Continue running normal Easy Pace/Effort for the remainder of time.

So, I did 7 instead of 5, partially because I was in a hurry to get home and partially because I just had the energy!

I did them at 49-52, 55-58, 02-05, 08-11, 14-17, 19-22, 25-28.

Felt great... again!!
