US Sprint Championships - Genesee Valley Park

That didn't really go the way I wanted it too. I was unhappy with the mapping and printing, but it really only effected me on 15 where the guardrail that continued after the bridge wasn't mapped. I just saw uncrossable fence on the map, and ran to the end of it and around it, instead of trying to figure out where they decided it was crossable, and stopped mapping it. There is no excuse for the inconsistencies and non standardness of that map though.

I don't think the mapper really gets the concept of a sprint map, and what the symbolization is supposed to mean to people moving at speed in terms of the details that are required (guardrails or impediments that will break my stride) vs details that are not needed (the difference between all the tree types, canopy sizes, and various statue/swing/bleechers etc symbols).

Hiking 2:00:00 [1]

Down in Letchworth scoping out the setup for the weekend, and testing radios. We were trying to get enough repeaters to get the remote finish online back to the arena, but the terrain just wasn't cooperating, and it would have taken a ridiculous amount of hardware. Nice day to be out in the woods though, so no complaints.

Excited for tomorrow. Lets see what a couple of months of training can do.

Running 1:09:56 [3] 7.17 mi (9:45 / mi) +26m 9:39 / mi

Running along the canal path into the village and back. I ran into my high school cross country coach out running with the team in the village.

Note

Laptop refuses to recognize its battery anymore. Time to schedule a genius bar visit to get a new one. The last one the failed slowly started to get worse and worse until I only had a few minutes of life. This one was fine until a week ago when it would just refuse to work sometimes, and now just flashes at me saying it has failed and needs replacement. I only seem to get a 2 year lifespan out of batteries, but I do use them heavily.
