Note

A stressful day with my timers.
Just before ski-o champs this year one of my timers failed due to the clock backup battery leaking all over the board. I was able to remove the battery and clean the board and get it working again, but put it into backup duty. I thought then that I should replace the battery in the other primary timer, but didn't get to it and forgot about it. Well today the same fate hit my primary timer, and this time the board damage was much worse and so far I haven't been able to revive it yet, which leaves me with only the backup timer working.
Luckily, Fred at Phoenix Sports Timing came through, and is sending me a timer to borrow for the weekend. He also is the most well informed person in the timing world it would seem, as he already knew that NAOC was this weekend (someone from DVOA land had contacted him about a clock rental, but he couldn't find the email while we were on the phone, so no idea who it was), and he knew that I was going into the ski timing business this winter. No idea how he had heard about my new timing company, but it is a small world sometimes.
I got a lecture about using old out of date equipment, and he is going to send me some newer demo gear to try out after NAOC.
