Had a geology field trip all day and got back feeling fairly tired but went out for a run around the Meadows and Links.

Went to the gym in the morning and did some core work and some weights.

Running (Intevals) 20:00 [4]

Met up with Hector after he had done his session and did some sprints on the treadmill, to improve leg speed. Did about 3 minutes jogging pace then put up the speed to something that I could maintain for about a minute, and then ran at that pace for 90 seconds.
Did that 4 times, each time getting faster for longer. Ended up at 16.2km/hr I think. Almost fell off the back of the treadmill at this pace though.

Just did a bit of spinning in the evening, nothing hard. Watched Friends and the time time flew by :)

Morning run around the meadows avec Jet :)

Race (Time Trial) 16:30 [5]

Did Toni's time trial again. I ran the first loop with Jet as she did her second and the ran my second loop with Toni, so was running fairly hard all the way. Also, didn't get lost this time which took a massive amount off my time.
Times for the two loops were - 8.14, 8.16

Running (Warm Up/Down) 40:00 [2]

Cycling to and from the Pollock roundabout and then jogging to and from the start.

Orienteering 1:22:14 [3]

Went out to the far end of the Pentlands for a long run/orienteering course on a contour only map. Borrowed Hector's thumb compass to try out but didn't really like using it.
Probably could have run for longer but don't want to make myself ill again.

Intervals 33:09 [3]

went down to intervals. Found it well hard being the first proper training after being ill.
Anyway, did the same as usual but missed out the last 1km as I felt like a lump of something really heavy like lead or something. And i got pooed on by a bird, so not a good evening really.

2 x 2km - 9.49, 10.22
2 x 1km - 4.45, 4.39

Mainly ran the intervals by myself as I couldn't keep up with Jet and Paddy, which was amazingly boring, especially the second 2km.

Went down to Huw's circuits as I don't want to do too much high intensity running yet. Warmed up on the bikes, then did lots of drills and jumping and hopping and some balance work. Finished with YWTA.

Can't seem to be able to breathe properly and weeze like an old man every time I have to climb stairs. Also very coughy so will have a few days off. which sucks.

Orienteering 2:47:00 [4]

Blodslittet in Norway. Amazing terrain, not so amazing run. Was one of the worst races I can remember. I was totally not focused at the start and made a massive mistake at number 1 and was so concerned with trying not to loose the pack that I messed up number 2 massivley too. So I ran nearly the whole thing by myself and only really saw people on my first run-through when I was lapped. No joke.
However, mentally started the race again on the second loop and my navigation improved slightly but still wasn't really concentrating properly. Also has some issues with my compass, I kept seeming to have my map disorientated which was a little worrying.

Not a good race, lots to learn though, especially about focus and concentration.

Morning jog around the meadows. Was a teeny bit late but managed to find everyone. Getting sore feet though, possibly from running in trainers all the time.

Went and did the time trial Toni planned. Ran the first loop with Toni but kinda lost where he went and got a little lost... Which is why the time for the first loop is so much longer than the first one.
Times were - 9.37, 9.03

Went to the gym and did some strength suff. Was majorly over-run with men pretending to lift massive weights while admiring thier biceps. Not a terribly bad thing though.

Long run in the Pentlands with Jet (and Hollie for a bit before she got too fast for me). Did a course that Toni planned which was all in terrain. Probably went a bit too far, as once I got to the furthest place from the minibus, I was knackered.

Intervals, same as the previous 3 weeks. bllergh.
2 x 2km - times were - 9.28, 9.36
3 x 1km - times were - 4.25, 4.17, 4.24

not very consistant but faster than before and towards the last one I was feeling quite tired.

Warm up jog to and around the meadows and warm down back home.

Went down the Meadows for an early morning run. Was v. cold but nice to be up and out.

Cycling to and from the gym and the warm up/down that I did in circuits. I made the mistake of looking in the mirror while doing the boxing thing in the warm up and realised just how stupid I really look pretending to hit somone.

Went to advanced circuits but took it slightly easy as I don't wan to get ill again. But was loving training again and my I love circuits with a passion, its awesome.
Mr Muscle was there, AND he actually chose to be in my group!

Orienteering (Sprint Race) 27:18 [3]

FWTN down at KB. It was a really good course but my head torch kept falling off so i just carried it which wasn't really all that effective.

Also have massive leg ache from all the road running I've been doing so will have to make sure I don't over do it.

Went for a long run with Hollie and Jet from the gym so mainly on the roads. Made my legs hurt quite a bit towards the end though.

Went down to the Meadows again this moring. It was much nicer than yesterday though as I was running with Jet :)

Did the same session as last week
2 x 2km - times were - 10.06, 10.01
3 x 1km - times were - 4.31, 4.32, 4.30
all with 90 seconds between each interval

Finished off with 3 x roughly 80m sprints.

Went to advanced circuits and this week had the pleasure of being in the same group as the man who pulls really hot faces. Made my evening.

Did some stuff on the machines before and after circuits and the warm up/down that the circuits guy took.

Went for an early-ish morning run around the Meadows this morning. Was massivley boring by myself.

Went for a run in the Pentalnds with Bex, Jess and some other girls, starting from Hill End. Was a manky day but was nice to get out there.

Went for a very early morning run with Bex around Blackford and Braids but had to cut it a bit short to get to my field trip on time. Was a lovely morning though :)
