Orienteering race 44:17 [4] 4.0 km (11:04 / km) +170m 9:08 / km
shoes: Falcon 2

Really enjoyable middle distance race (apart from the long slog through the heather between the slope and the quarries!). The start really complex - if we had stayed in there I reckon I'd have finished 10 places higher by the spllits! Then out into more runnable parts but sometimes low vis. Kept on the map. 1 error on long leg - dragged bearing right. Ironic that my corridor training should have helped here! But only 45s or so. 36/55

What a fantastic weekend all round. Shame more folk werent there to enjoy it!
Scalp 2 - Paul Caban. A rare victory!

Orienteering race 18:19 [4] 2.3 km (7:58 / km) +40m 7:20 / km
shoes: New balance

Heats for British Sprint Champs. 38/78 on my heat. 10th M45 so didnt make the A final, but not so far off as last year - a realistic goal for maybe next time? Well off being in the C final all the same! Good run. Enjoyable and generally complex sprint with some good route choice legs. Some decent splits too.

Orienteering race 16:03 [4] 2.0 km (8:02 / km) +40m 7:18 / km
shoes: New balance

43/78 in the B course in the final. I think translated into 10th on the M45 B final. Better result than last year. Two races today where I didnt make any real errors I think. Enjoyed this one too - very complex in the residences although the last 4 controls seemed quite easy.

Scalp 1 Max Carcas.

Nice fast course at Kelvingrove courtesy of GUOC! good prep for British Sprints on Saturday - still a good bit behind Al D though...
