POM Long. Aged 40 years prior to the start and bought a magnifier. It was a very good decision and one I should have made whenever I had to start using 1:15 maps. Suddenly it was possible to read the map whilst moving! Took a bad routechoice on the long leg to 3 thinking I was being clever avoiding all the green but sounds like there was a track through... and took me a while to find the tunnel through the green to 10. Definitely the first time the most viable routechoice has been to crawl under a load of bushes, through a stream and under a fence! Had a great time and felt alright over the distance. Just a bit slow. Very hot again, got a control description holder tan line.

POM Middle 1. Super cool area. Open and fast grassy forest with lots of rock and a bit of vegetation. Stopped halfway to 1 as I was overwhelmed by the rock features trying to match stuff up. Was careful to make sure I got the navigation right but missed 13 in the green (as did a lot of people!). Very fun and very hot!

POM night sprint. Quite an easy course. Going well until the end when I misread a wall for the edge of a road so overshot the entrance to the gardens.

Note

Interesting journey to POM thanks to Storm Boris. Sat in Manchester airport watching planes doing acrobatics on the runway. Half the flights were cancelled so fortunate to only be a bit delayed.

Down at the foundry with Emma. Shoulder so much better than a few weeks ago! :-) Managed a weight bearing overhang - just no finger strength.
