Got the Salomons outside. Trails were maybe a bit tackier than last weekend, but I still used the Microspikes. I put them on a bit earlier than last week, but then took them off for a stretch before putting them back on to finish off at the park. I won't be wearing the Salomons again with the spikes though, as one of the chains cut into some of the exposed foam.

A bit of climbing at 10 percent again. I'll have to keep tacking on to that if I want to give PPM a shot. Had to get this one in when Leo went to bed, so I spent most of the time focused on the baby monitor. This run wasn't in the Pyrenees, so it was far from an ideal first run in the new Salomons, but I had to try them out. They're a bit lighter than the Trailrocs, but I like the fit of the Trailroc a bit better. I do think the Salomons will be more protective though, once I finally get them on the trails. What I'd like to see is for Inov-8, when they release their F-Lites with their anatomic last, to make the 230 equivalent a bit softer. I'd throw a milkplate in those, and then I'd have about the perfect shoe.

Leo woke up early. Tried it with the incline at 10 percent for a couple miles. Heel's a bit sore now, but not terrible. I would like to give Pikes Peak Marathon a go, but only if Anna OKs a race vacation. It seems like average grade there is 11 percent. My cheap craigslist treadmill only goes to 10. Could use one that goes to 11.
