| BC champs sprint at the Stake Lake ski stadium. Lots of running on the ski trails and it felt like an easy runner's course when I was out there. Had a pretty clean race, except a 35 second mistake at 10. Read the map as if the control was on a spur, but it was actually a depression. Was very surprised to end up with the second fastest time on the course after Thomas. I guess people got tricked into relaxing too much by the course looking so easy and then making mistakes. |

| BC champs middle (which was a chase start based on the sprint). Course started on the ski trails with some fast running. Coming out of 2 I started running the wrong way on a trail and lost 15 seconds. On the way to 4, through a clear cut, I twisted my ankle pretty badly. The pain stunned me for 30 seconds and then I continued to hobble along to punch the control. Trail running to 5 the pain was subsiding a bit and I decided to continue, but I couldn't run with a normal confident stride. Brian May caught up to me at 7 and I was just able to hang on to him in the technical part of the course. Coming back out on the ski trail at the end of the course, I again stepped slightly wrong on the ankle and the pain was severe. I lost another minute on Brian jogging into the finish.
Foot is now swollen with a red streak from some internal bleeding. Just hope that I can recover before the Western Canadian Champs at the end of June and then all the O in Europe after that. Really disappointing, as I was just clear of the knee problem that troubled me for a year. |

| Trail run in the cold May rain. Again, a feeling of winter conditions. Ran over to Seymour river. Wanted the check out the terrain north east of the Rice Lake map. Unfortunately, not much there of value to map. |

| Rice Lake race. I felt very motivated for this race and my shape is starting to get better. The newly expanded map made for a nice course. First down the Lynn canyon for five controls. I had some trouble at 4, was looking too high on the slope. Then up to the north end of the lake with mostly nice forest running. Long route choice back south and I went west of the lake, loosing 45 seconds to Thomas who went east. Over the big hill to 15 I wasn't very aggressive into the control and again to 16 I hesitated too much. Overall, a good run for me, only minor mistakes and legs felt good. |

| WET at Ambleside. A new record in course length on this map, with some good route choice. Tried to push hard in the running and it felt pretty good. Slowed down a bit towards the end. Only a minute behind Thomas. |

| Thetis training together with Benoit. Took turn leading and the leader would speak out loud the thought process during the leg. Great day and fun terrain. |

| Thunderbird 3-hour Score-O. A few hours of crazy bushwhacking, deep salal, dead trees everywhere and steep hills. Don't know if I picked the best route, but it felt decent. Kept a constant slow speed and never got tired. Pretty much nailed all controls, but got badly stuck in the crazy terrain a few times.
