Running Smooth race (running) 1:08:00 [4] 15 km (4:32 / km) vdot: 46.2
The Haney 2 Harrison road running relay. This is the only road running race I do. Lots of fun following your team along during the day. However, this year it was raining buckets... The relay has 8 legs and is 100 km in total. Some people do it solo... but they are all put back in the asylum directly after the race.

I ran the 3rd leg this year for the GVOC Salal Bashers, just like I did last year. This leg starts with a steep climb the first 1500 metres, then it is slightly uphill until 7 km and then slightly downhill the last half home. I'm still at the tail end of this cold and was debating if I would run at all, but in the end I decided to do it, because we didn't really have anyone else. I took it kind of slow and careful and ran 68 minutes, but still felt pretty stiff at the end. Last year I ran 58 minutes, which I was very happy with. Our team ended up with a good finish in the top 25, out of around 300 teams, with a time of 7 hours and 11 minutes.

Orienteering City/Park (wet) 20:00 [2]
(sick)
A slow jog at the WET at Musqeam park. Again, it was a one-man relay with 3 loops. I did the first two, with a stuffed up nose, but not feeling too terrible.

Monday Oct 30

Note
(sick)
Caught a cold again... sore throat, tired. Third one this year for me. Unusual.
