Hiking 1:00:00 [1] 4.0 km (15:00 / km) +400m 10:00 / km

Hike up Seymour to the First Pump. A bit of a spring feeling down in the city, but full winter up in the mountain. A couple of degrees below freezing and snowing lightly. Had hot blueberry soup in the thermos!

Skiing - Skate 15:00 [2]

Warm-up.

Skiing - Skate 36:00 [3] 9.0 km (4:00 / km) +100m 3:47 / km

Some skiing at Cypress. Absolutely foggy. Couldn't really see the tracks or where to go, but knowing the trails well made it kind of possible anyway. Skied up high first for some loops and then back down to the lodge. Feeling a bit slow and clumsy.

Running Rough 45:00 [2]

Feeling kind of light headed and dizzy today, so skipped skiing. Went instead for a very gentle jog around the two different sprint maps we're going to use for the Sunday races at the sprint camp in two weeks. Checking out the snow status. Both maps are mostly forest maps and under the trees there is little or no snow, but in any open or semi-open areas the snow is probably a foot deep. Most trails also have a couple of inches of packed and slippery white stuff.

Well, Friday and Saturday are all maps close to sea level and will not have any snow, and chances are that there will be some more melting on Sunday's maps before the event.

I have no pain in my left knee after running hard yesterday, so I'll turn that injury flag off. Not sure what that pain was...

Running Smooth 30:00 [2]

Warm-up/cool-down. Picking up pin flags.

Orienteering City/Park (wet) 37:10 [4] 8.0 km (4:39 / km) +40m 4:32 / km

WET at Children's Hospital on updated map. First a normal loop that I did in 23:36 without any mistakes. Then 4 mini sprint loops on a 1:1500 scale map. I did A (2:59), B(3:32), C(3:55) and D(3:04) in that order. Great training on the detailed map, especially at night. We have had good quality at the trainings lately here.

Floorball 1:30:00 [3]

Floorball (the real European kind) at the Roundhouse community center. Surprisingly high level with many really good players, including three Swedes and one Dane. I haven't played at this level in over six years, so I was pretty rusty and the timing was off. The first 30 minutes was intense and you hardly got a second to do anything with the ball before someone was checking. I got into it more and more and scored a nice goal, long shot from the left just under the crossbar, and assisted on several. Awesome fun! This will be on the training schedule from now on for sure.

Running Rough 40:00 [2]

Jog on very icy Lynn Valley trails with Andrea, Cedric and dogs.
