OK Nuts trophy, Winterfold, Short Brown.
Not feeling very enthusiastic when I started, didn't make much sense of #1 but spotted the kite from some distance away. From there on it was very easy orienteering, you just had to choose a route that minimized time spent in the terrain. It was very heavy going with brashings and undergrowth everywhere. I caught Chris Hooker at #7, then every leg after that he pulled away from me a little bit and then slowed down into the control allowing me to nearly catch back up. This went on until the last leg which was a straight run up a steepish track for 200m or so and he took half a minute out of me. As did Evie on the same leg. I was a bit dead by that point.
My result was fairly typical I suppose for an easy southern area, 9 minutes behind John Duckworth, 5 behind Nigel Bunn.
