Sunday Oct 2 #

orienteering race 1:09:00 [4] 7.9 km (8:44 / km)

Pillar Woods, brown course. Much less pleasant than previous visits here, straight being generally not so great most of the time. Lost bits of time here and there. The worst mistake was where the map clearly showed a white strip through some rhododendrons that turned out not to exist. Neither did the next strip of white, and I ended up running round three sides of a very large thicket.

Most of the course was following rides or paths, sometimes quite a long way around, to find an easy control near the path. Just like an orange course. Enjoyed it all the same.

Liam Corner beat me by 5 minutes.

Saturday Oct 1 #

running 2:01:00 [3] 12.3 mi (9:50 / mi)

Runway lights, nice and steady.

I decided to enter the 21st century and take Evie's GPS watch with me. It lied to me incessantly about how fast (or rather, slow) I was going, and how little distance I had covered. I have decided to ignore it.

Checking it with Evie afterwards it would appear not to be logging GPS data so it doesn't even know where I have been.

Friday Sep 30 #

running 38:00 [2] 3.3 mi (11:31 / mi)

Super slow.

Thursday Sep 29 #

running 1:02:07 [3] 6.9 mi (9:00 / mi)

Spen Lane, Holt Park, Adel Lane.

Wednesday Sep 28 #

running 44:20 [3] 4.8 mi (9:14 / mi)

seven arches. Lovely.

Tuesday Sep 27 #

running 53:17 [4] 6.5 mi (8:12 / mi) +200m 7:29 / mi

A bit dark. Slow through the darker bits, quicker when it was less rough and less dark. A bit of a strain.

Went over on my ankle after 14 minutes. I was ok keeping going but it is sore now.

Monday Sep 26 #

running 29:34 [3] 3.3 mi (8:58 / mi)

Parkside and Weetwood. First road run of the winter. Miserable wet and grey.
