Brimham Rocks "middle distance". A bit tired but it didn't really make much difference because I had to slow down to make any sense of it. Lots of confusion in the circle. Lost time at maybe 5 controls, 30 secs to a minute each time. There was one bit where I couldn't even make sense of the overprint and started looking for the control in the middle of a circle of paths.

Quite a long time for not much kilometres. Good fun, but not a suitable race for a middle distance championship.

Really Wild Boar Fell Race. Up a track, into some cloud, then a pathless descent and back onto the track. I seemed to be very close to the back until we went into the cloud and then I couldn't see where the back was. I navigated ok off the top ok then made a beeline for the checkpoint on the track which took me into a big bog. Wiser people went around it.

Edit : found some results. 70th out of 83. Hmmm. Won by Carl Bell in 39:57, so virtually the same relative to the winner as I was at Great Whernside.

NLFR intervals at Roundhay. 8 x 3 mins with 90secs rest and a longer break in the middle. Actually managed to do the full session without wimping out of any this time.

Parkside and Weetwood, a little but faster but then I was putting in lots of effort. Cold again but dry.
