I don't think the forest was as bad as many said, fairly varied, including areas that requires technical running and/or has low visibility. However, I feel the map could maybe have been a bit better.
My plan was to start out pretty conservative and run safe. My left calf started to hurt in the beginning of the race and it got slightly worse as the race progressed. However, I think it was only in the last quarter of the race where it actually slowed me down a bit. I don't think it is something serious but I'll take a few days off to be safe.
Mistakes:
One major #7 ~120s. Thought I was to the right of the control but was left (had been a bit right half way to it but overcompensated). Initially I tried to use the vegetation boundary, but it was very diffuse.
A smaller mistake on #11 ~15s, didn't see the control! (even if it was the easiest and most visible of them all).
Also ~15s mistakes each on #1 and #15, the two tricky rootstocks in the green, took it really easy and safe knowing that the boundaries could be diffusive and that only some of the rootstocks very mapped (not as bad as the trees though:-) ).
With a lot of stuff on the ground and lower visibility in some areas, it was a bit harder to keep the direction than usual, and I lost some seconds on it here and there, I guess 10-20s each time it happened: #3 to far left initially, #4 to far right after the road, #6 before the ponds, #8 wrong side around a hill ( map reading error not compass), #13 to far right.
