1/8 (4.12 ahead)
It was a tough course and decided to start out a bit conservative. Made some big mistakes on the first half:
#5 ~80s a stone on a stony bland slope. Had a good ap but it was far away, ran just pass the control and searched almost 100m away. Need to get a better feeling for distance.
#7 ~150s Thought I could connect easily between the roads on each side of an old quarry, but it was next to impossible, should have realized there was a possibility for a time loss on this route.
#8 ~60s (+60s) Not focused enough, had problem keeping my direction and very slow and uncertain into the control area. Surprisingly it was also even faster to run around as shown by Jens L. who was ~1min faster than everybody.
At this point Jens L. had almost caught up with me, ~30s behind (started 3min behind), so I increased my pace (couldn't lose this :-) )and apart from some small things to #10 and a ~20s mistake to #14 (to low) it went very well. Happy I could push pretty hard in the big climbs towards the end.
