Orienteering race 1:39:10 [4] 9.9 km (10:01 / km)
Vielposten-OL 4/60 (7.43 behind)
Wasn't very well prepared for his race and felt directly from the start that I had neither speed nor power to climb the mountains. However, with 105 controls among the sandstone cliffs it might have been good to not move to fast to decrease the number of mistakes:
#10 ~30s Saw Matti, who was heading to #5 (the gap between us was slightly smaller than it had been between me and Wieland at his point:-) ) and lost some concentration, headed up to #56(86) even if I was fairly sure I shouldn't have it.
#25 ~30s Hesitated whether I dared drop down between the cliffs for a while, but since I couldn't see the bottom I decided to play it safe and run around.
#51 ~30s Ran past it to another boulder
#67-76 ~2min Couldn't really keep up my concentration and got really sloppy and slow for this stretch.
Otherwise a lot of small mistakes 5-10s not reading the map enough, map stops,... it is really hard to get the balance right with this many controls, but I am decently happy I think no major mistakes on 105 controls is good.
Also hurt my foot halfway through but I don't the really slowed me down. My first multi-control-O and I enjoyed every control of it!
Danke TU-Jugend!
