Ran a warm-up with Birkmeier and the girls. Got some good stretching in while watching the boys race. Hoping for a good race!

Running race (Cross Country) 23:59 [5] 5.0 mi (4:48 / mi)
shoes: Grey/Pink Puma Spikes

Not a good race. About 2K in, I felt like my lungs were really small and had a really hard time breathing. Second race in a row this happened, so not sure what to do about that. Also, got big blisters on both feet, so I'll probably have to quit using my spikes (probably change to flats?). Time from last year was 23:45 and I wanted to beat that, but didn't. The coaches sounded really happy with my race, but I wasn't...determined to do better next week in Duluth.

Morning practice. We ran around the gym six times, did ballistics and some pretty intense stretching. Wouldn't consider it a "workout" but whatever...

A ladder today, without the biggest interval. Ran a 1K, 1200 m, 1200 m, and 1K. Times were 4:10, 5:03, 5:08, 4:17. Feeling comletely drained today...

Kettle Bells 1:00:00 [2]

Combinations of goblet squats, dead lifts, push-up/plank positions, cleans, presses and lots of swings. A bit easier than Monday, but still a good workout. I just love kettle bells somedays...good stress reliever!

Ran from the start line to the boys mile marker on the course today. Practicing starts, they were supposed to be more of a race pace, but we pretty much sprinted them. Then walked halfway, ran halfway back to the start. We did five of them.

Easy, short run. Most of the team is at the 10th grade and under meet today so we're on our own. Basically, ran the outer loop...

Kettle Bells 1:00:00 [3]

Kettle bells today. A ladder. 10 goblet squats, 10 push-ups (half down, up, all the way down, up=1), and 10 swings. Worked our way down to 1. Pullovers (32 of them...). And some good stretching!
