Orienteering (LDC) 1:40:43 [3] 22.76 km (4:26 / km)
shoes: Stumpy 29er

Fun day out for the MTBO champs.
Cold to start with but warmed up nicely.
Reasonable through to 3 then stuffed around a lot at 4 turned right and went up to a much further away track junction then rode the single track down and then worked out where I was through the overgrown trail then turned right and didn’t see the track with the control so rode further up the hill, ended up deciding I was in the wrong place so turned around to roll back to the main track and then saw there track I needed as I headed back down and the control. Rode the single track to 7 which was fun but probably slow, saw Ricky looking confused as I rode out the bottom section.

Bit crappy to 8, should’ve taken the bigger track but ended up taking the tiny little one, got it ok though. Took it easy 9 through 13 as I didn’t want to stuff up the nav in all the tracks and ruts and puddles. No issues through to the end.

Siair was good though so often the control seemed to be on he wrong side of the track for it to work (band was on my right wrist) or I was going in and back so it didn’t help much as I stopped to turn around anyway, best control I got was one that wasn’t on my course, it beeped nicely as I rode past at normal speed.

ETA: lost a lot of time at 4 in the end, not much on 7 considering, a bit on 8 and 13 which I ended up quite a bit higher through the yellow than I meant to.

Decent ride out at the valley. Similar loop to last time except Jason came too and showed me some other different linking bits of single track. One crash, otb, and legs pretty tired at the end.
Good ride, lovely morning and some nice wildflowers coming out.
