Running warm up/down 15:00 [3]

I think it was 15 minutes...

Orienteering 40:17 [3] *** 4.9 km (8:13 / km)
18c

Aside from a little trouble on 1, I ran pretty fast with very few mistakes. I chose a bad route to 7, thinking the trail would be faster than the woods, but I think I lose about 1:30 going the extra distance, so that wasn't worth it. Then on number 8 I was looking for a steep re-entrant just before the control, but I must have been too low where the re-entrant was too broad, but I still managed to run right past the control and think it wasn't mine. That lost me another couple minutes, which was super frustrating. All-in-all, not my best weekend...

More up

Orienteering 1:44:57 [3] *** 12.7 km (8:16 / km)

I started out on the trail to plan my route, but I had a little trouble on my first control because of scale (I think). Then my route to number 2 might have been able t be better (I went left early and ran the trail), but after that I was running really fast and cleanly, but on the long leg from 7-8 I started developing... gastric distress. I was good enough to make it through the next couple of controls, but I knew I wouldn't be able to do the whole course without stopping or walking. Fortunately, 10-11 went right by the pre-start area, and I stopped to use the bathroom. Peter Gagarin was there, of course, so he apparently timed me around 2:45 or 2:50. I then lost a little more time trying to find 11, and a little time on the next few controls because of hesitations. The rest went pretty well, but overall I wish I had been a little faster. Starting to get sick, though.

Running warm up/down 10:00 [3]

Feeling the leg a bit, but after some good stretches recommended by Erin and some strides, it actually felt a lot better.

Orienteering race 16:05 [3] *** 3.0 km (5:22 / km)
22c

Eric got me by one second, but there was another guy who's apparently elligible who got us both by a bit. Still, wishing I had put in a tiny extra effort in the finish chute (which is where he passed me in time). No significant errors, but a couple of 1-2 second hesitations. Also, definitely should have been doing more tempo runs. My leg felt just fine, though, so that's a plus!

Running 18:15 [3]

Just wanted to test out my leg. It's not ready yet. I ran out for a bit. It started hurting. I did a couple stretches. Went a bit further, no improvement, did more stretches and turned around. Admittedly, I haven't been doing the stretches as much as I should, but seeing as I want to race on Friday I'm thinking at least two or three times a day until then.

Elliptical 30:00 [3]

Tried it out because my roommate was going to run on the treadmill, and after a bit of pain at first I was able to go the whole time and feel more or less normal (aside from the weird running motion). I think I was favoring my right leg a little, though, because after about 20:00 or so it felt slightly more tired than my left. Good exercise, though.
