Piano practice 2:00:00 [3]

Today I had a Fever again. If you are healthy, you get to stay quietly at daycare, but if you are sick you get hauled around all sorts of strange places and left with all types of strangers.
Today I went to Mum's work, where I slept on the floor under the practice manager's desk, and then to Toby's house where the little fluffy dog was really fun, and then Mum visited for a while and I went to sleep in a funny pram, and later I spent ages barricaded in Dad's office, where everyone thinks I'm really cute.
Finally Mum took me home, where I could have the rest I so badly needed, so I spent the next 2 hours making beautiful soothing music and shouting at the cat.

Neural networking 1:00 [5]

Oh and later on Mum sang "clap your hands...." and something in my brain made me bang my hands together and Mum was soooooo excited! And so we did it again and again, until I was excited too and then Mum clapped her hands and so did I and really, it just doesn't take much to entertain my Mum, bless her.

Swimming (ocean) 10:00 [5] 0.05 km (3:20:00 / km)

It was really really hot today, so we went to the lagoon at West Beach for a swim with Felix and his Mum.
I was still a bit raw from my last (self-inflicted) sudden-freezing-immersion-ocean-swimming experience and when I saw the ocean I koala-clung to Mmmmumum for a while, but then I got distracted by a sandcastle and all of a sudden I was crawling like mad backwards and forwards in the water. It was great fun, who'd've thought it?
A lady laughed at my swimming and said that I crawl like a crab, but she doesn't know anything, because everyone knows that crabs crawl sideways, and I crawl frontwards like Mowgli. And anyway I wasn't crawling, because when you are in the water it is called Swimming.

Note

I still like sleeping on Dad, but look how much harder it is for him nowadays!

Swimming 40:00 [4]

I had a lovely swim this afternoon. I am a much better swimmer than Mmmmum now, she could hardly keep up with me. Dadad came along to watch, and take pictures, and tell all the disinterested teenage lifeguards long stories about me and my humurus exploits.
Swimming is just like crawling but sometimes you end up coughing and coughing and I don't really get why, so I just keep on trying.

Cuddles 1:00:00 [3]

Mmmmum took me Doctoring again today. It was brilliant fun! We went to somewhere called a Nursing Home and all these really crinkled people wanted to squeeze my cheeks and my "oooooh gorgeous fat little legs" and all I had to do was smile a bit to make them really gooey.
The nurse lady gave me the best toy in the whole world, it was a little sample pot. Lid goes on, lid goes off. Lid goes on, lid goes off. I was missing my trolley but this was nearly as much fun. The other nurse lady had a humerous rubber chicken which she waved at me but I looked disapprovingly at her and took the lid on and off my pot for nearly an hour, until we went home for lunch.

Climbing (and sliding) 10:00 [4]

First unassisted solo ascent and descent of the West Beach playground climbing frame and slide.
Then did the whole thing again for good measure. Yeah!

Trolley long 20:00 [3] 0.04 km (8:20:00 / km)

I pushed my trolley almost to the end of the street today! Then I sat down and played with a piece of stick and refused to push any more. Mum carried me and my trolley home.

Trolley intervals 1:00:00 [3] 0.2 km (5:00:00 / km)

Mum needed my help today, she had some tins of fruit that needed to be ferried repeatedly backwards and forwards along the hallway in a small trolley.
It turns out the trolley is fun! Even better than the cat! Oh I could push my trolley all night, if mum let me. To begin with I would look to mum for help when I hit the wall at the end of the hallway, but after an hour or so I started bursting into frustrated screaming every time I hit an obstacle so Mum put me to bed. I will push the trolley some more tomorrow though.
Dadadad says that if I practice trolley-pushing a lot, one day I will be able to trolley-push without a trolley, just like he does. And then I won't have to scream every time I run into a wall.

Climbing 2:00 [3]

Here is something I worked out the other day (not really today, because today I am going to sleep all day again and eat nothing but yoghurt and sympathy):

You can go over a slide the other way too! I'm not sure if anyone has ever tried this before.

3 PM

Fine motor skills (blocks) 1:00 [5]

After a long session of "lid goes on, lid goes off" and "block in the tin, block out of the tin", I had a go at building block towers, like Mum does. Usually I just knock them over, because building them is unbelievably frustratingly difficult. After 16 tries I managed to build a tower of two blocks. Mum was pretty excited. Then I knocked over my tower and went to find the lid again. Lid goes on, lid goes off. Lid goes on...

Cuddles 1:00:00 [3]

This week something funny happened to me. Mum says I have a Fever. A Fever is a special thing, it must be a bit like a birthday, because you get to go home from day care early and play with Mum at work. I slept for a while but then the reception ladies wanted to have a screaming competition while Mum talked to her patients. I EASILY won the competition, and after a while Dadadad took me away to HIS work, where there were rows and rows of kids doing tai kwon do which was brilliant to watch.
You don't do any eating or crawling when you have a Fever, you just cling to Mum and look pathetic, and if she puts you on the floor, you lie down with your head on the carpet and make little sad noises until she picks you up again.
You also get to sleep a lot, but the weirdest bit was having a bath at 2 in the morning. That confused me and I frowned at my rubber ducky like anything, because it was not the right rubber ducky time of day at all.
After my 2 am bath I just stayed asleep until waaaaay after morning time, because if I cry, Mum might put me back in the bath. I am going to sleep all day today.

Bounce Bounce Bounce 5 [5]
shoes: Skin!

We went to the MTB track today and I was a bit tired so I clung to Dad like a humanistic koala while Dad turned a bit s-l-o-w or thought I was a Frenchman or something as he kept repeating words really slowly and a bit loudly. I even sort of copied him to see what reaction I'd get. "eeeee" I went. Dad thought that was very clever as he tapped a tree. Odd.

Next I spotted some bright orchids a few metres away and I sent the simple telepathic prompt to Dad to walk that way - I didn't count on the big oaf's inability to look where he was going, sheesh, you'd think tRicky was carrying me. He took about an 1/8th of a step and next thing I know is I'm still clinging to Dad but the ground was rapidly approaching. Not wanting to be like a flat koala under a mountain ash I swung my weight sideways and managed to roll him in mid air so that I had a nice soft landing (I pay attention to Uncle Juffy's comments...!). Bingo. It knocked the wind out of me for a bit but I was undamaged - Dad had this red stuff coming out of both his feet around the rust flakes.

MTB (piggery) 35:00 [0]

Mmmmum took me for my first mountain bike ride today, yawn... It was a breeze - just like every other adventure activity I had a lovely rest and then woke up the carpark. I'm not sure what the big deal is.

Swimming (Ocean ) 30:00 [3]

We had a heat wave today so mmmmmmmum took me to the beach. I was soooo excited about the water so I crawled straight in but suddenly I got really cold and said DODODO until mmmmmmum gave me a cuddle. When I was warm I crawled into the water but suddenly I got really cold and said DODODO until mmmmmmum gave me a cuddle. When I was warm I crawled into the water but suddenly I got really cold and said DODODO until mmmmmmum gave me a cuddle. After a while we had eaten enough sand so we went home.

shoes: Skin!

The fat girl at day care and I have a great game - I climb awkwardly over the side of the slide and slip lots as I make my way up the slippery slope of smiles, then, as I near the summit the fat girl sticks her hand out and pushes me in the face till I slide back down.

This is great!

Then, I climb awkwardly over the side of the slide and slip lots as I make my way up the slippery slope of smiles, then, as I near the summit the fat girl sticks her hand out and pushes me in the face till I slide back down.

Woo-hoo!

So then I climb awkwardly over the side of the slide and slip lots as I make my way up the slippery slope of smiles, then, as I near the summit the fat girl sticks her hand out and pushes me in the face till I slide back down.

Yeah baby!

Talking (Cancer prevention) 20:00 [5]

I feel very strongly about the inequalities of the health care system in rural and remote Australia and the discrepancies in cancer mortality, so I went along to a programme launch. I agreed very much with what the man with the beard said so when he talked I went BAAAAA DODODO BVVVVVVUUYH to encourage him. Then we ate some yummy eggy stuff and a banana and I snotted on mum. It was a good meeting. Then we went home for tea.

ProperCrawling intervals (Box Reps) 1:30 [5] 0.04 km (39:28 / km)
shoes: Skin!

M-m-m-mummmmm! picked me up from daycare today just before they were about to put me in my pigeon hole for the night... I think she must have forgotten about me. Then into the lovely big blue Triton to home for M-m-m-m-mmmmmmmmdinnner.

Only this time we went to a different house - it was really small, m-m-m-mmmmmDa-da-daaa was there and lots of people standing around talking and some pictures on the wall. One man said something unintelligable to me and I smiled slightly as I wondered why he was bothering when clearly all I want is Dinner-bath'n bed. This made the man's evening.

Adults are so silly.

m-m-m-mmmmmDa-da-daaa had disappeared but came back with food and drink for us all, much nicer than my cruskit which I threw to the floor and swapped for some nice potato, cheese and onion slice. mmmMMMmmMMMMMMM! When I finished this I had some more. And then some more. Then some woman started talking and everyone went quiet - this seemed a bit odd so I thought I'd better make some noise. It worked! - M-m-m-mummmmm picked me out of my pram and I had some milk around the corner. Then I came back and slurped noisily out of my cup.

Just when I was encouraging M-m-m-mummmm to take me home m-m-m-mmmmmDa-da-daaa put me on the floor with my stupid book - I mean, how long do they really think it['s going to take me to learn all 5 pages of the book - stupid chicken, then stupid sheep, then stupid shiney fish, then pull the stupid horse's tail and stupid furry cow!!! I threw it away.

Yes, now I had the bestest toys to play with uninterrupted for the next 20-mins, the iphone case and mmmmmDa-da-daaa's wallet.

Off home and straight after my bath I raced naked from one end of the house to the other chasing mmmmmDa-da-daaa and then did one lap around this big cardboard box in the middle of the loungeroom that had 16 sides about 1m long - at every corner mmmDa-da-daaa was just disappearing around the next one! Luckily, just as I was getting tired I got back to the start and head-butted him. Then I put my chest and head on the carpet and had a rest for a few seconds. Knackered now, just enough energy left to chase the cat and fall into my pyjamas and a blissful soft bed.... night-night.
