Cuddles 1 [3]

I've got a new Mum now, her name is Grandma! She can do all the things that normal mum can do but she is much funnier. Mum keeps disappearing on her bike, I'm not sure what that is about.

Unspecified (Christmas) 1:00:00 [3]

Today we played Christmas, which is one of those funny adult games with strange and inconsistent rules. The best bit was the start, when we all went to the beach and Grandad dug a huuuuuge hole. It had water in the bottom and I had lots of fun playing while he talked about hydraulics and complex mining theory. I'm lucky my grandad knows about mining because not just anyone can discover water at the beach.
After the beach we had lots of toys. It was funny because mum would unveil a new toy with great fanfare and tell me to pretend I liked it the best while we skype grandma, but then just when I was having fun she would uncover another one and say that THIS one was the best while we Skype aunty Caitlin, but then I had to pretend the rest of the time that none of them were as good as my tractor because that was from grandma and grandad were there watching.
Eventually I went on strike and played fire trucks with dad while mum had fun with all the other new toys.
There was heaps of yummyummy food and then we all had a nap.

Lurching (Tractor) 1 [3]

I have a tractor. It is a John Deere tractor and Dad's friend Davo said it is just like his one. Except that when you grow up you don't have to carry a sheep in one hand while you drive your John Deere tractor, or keep a cow under your seat. This is probably because grown up farmers have much bigger and smellier sheep than my one.
I am really good at tractoring. It is quite hard to push it with one hand because I'm not that stable at walking yet so I have to sort of lurch sideways, but there is no other way because you can't put the sheep down.
Grandad said that some people actually sit on their John Deere tractor instead of pushing it from behind but Grandad is quite old and says all sorts of things.

Walking 2 [5] 0.0 km (6:40 / km)

I am good at standing, and I can walk if Mum holds my hand. But if no one is holding my hand and something is too far away, I just lean and lean until I fall on my face. But today I needed the roll of strapping tape VERY badly, and falling on my face didn't seem the best way to get to it. So I moved one of my feet and then the other one so that when I fell forwards I didn't land on my face, but was actually still standing up! Wow! I don't need to try this again for a while, because I've got the strapping tape now, but I'll keep it in mind in case I ever need to do it again.

Unspecified (physics) 1:00:00 [3]

Today we made some important experimental observations but I have yet to come to any useful conclusions.
You can put two milk bottle lids into the top of a plastic cup, and then you can shake-a-shake-a-shake the cup to make a happy noise. You cannot put the lids into the bottom of the cup, because there is no hole there. Only in the top. BUT if you turn the cup over so that the top becomes the bottom and the bottom the top, then you can no longer put the lids into the top of the cup because it is the top that used to be the bottom and there is no hole there, and the lids fall on the floor. BUT now, you can't put the lids into the bottom of the cup either, even though it is the bottom that used to be the top and there is definitely a hole there, because the lids won't go into the hole, they just fall on the floor.
SOOOO you have to turn the cup over so that the bottom that was the top is now the top again, and you can put the lids in the hole and then shake-a-shake-a-shake the cup which is GREAT. But if you get excited and shake-a too much then the lids go on the floor, even though top and bottom are in their usual places and it is so confusing.

Standing 1:00 [3]

Now I can stand up from the floor without even using my hands. And once I'm standing, I can stand for aaaages. Yeah :-)

Talking 20:00 [3]

I have been talking for ages, really, but fiiiinally Mmmmum and Dadad are starting to learn to understand some of what I say. The only words they understand so far are "ca! ca!" which doesn't need explaining, that was always going to be my first word, and "moh...moh...moh" which means "milk or food or yoghurt, whichever I am reaching towards". Sometimes they get it wrong and I make it easier for them by throwing everything that I DON'T want to eat on the floor.

Jedi 30:00 [3]

Finally, mastering the art I am, of Jedi. By raising my arm and pointing my raised and open palm in the direction I want to travel I am effortlessly transported in that direction. Improve my voice control I must, chanting "Moo-merrrr-merrr-mow" is not as dignified as Obi-Wan. Sometimes, Too much I feel the Force, and there is an equal and opposite effortless reaction resulting in quick transportation to my change table.

Croozin' (boot camp) 2:00:00 [4]

The day care ladies said I have to learn to walk. They said I have until February, but I don't know what that means. I think it might be something like when the cat scratches you if you squeeze her face too hard. So I am practising my walking. But only at day care. When I get home I have had enough so I sit on the floor with my arms in the air going "moooooo mmmmoooooo" until Mum carries me.
This week I had three days of day care so I'm extra tired.

Bounce Bounce Bounce 1 [1]

Dad and I went on holidays today, to visit Grandma and Grandad and Great grandma! It was sooo much fun. We played on the plane, and then we played with grandma, and we ate stuff and slept and played and slept and played some more. At bedtime Grandma gave me a bath and we played, and then I went to sleep. Apparently Mum had lots of trouble sleeping that night because Dad and I were away, but I didn't miss her at ALL. In the morning we got back on the plane and went home, because our holiday was finished. Mum was very cuddly when I got home and a bit clingy, I think she has a bit of separation anxiety.

Climbing 30:00 [5]

Mum and I went christmas shopping today, but Mum isn't very good at keeping her focus and we ended up in the toy shop. She bought Dad and I an early birthday present and it is soooo much fun! It is really soothing for my before-bedtime quiet time.

Standing up 10 [3]

I have been practising standing up for a while now. It is just like flying: you have to let go of whatever you're hanging on to, and then forget to fall over. This means you have to distract yourself by, say, clapping your hands, or hanging onto two milk bottle lids in each hand, or trying to insert a stolen $50 note into the cat.
It is going quite well really, and today I made a PB, stood clapping for almost 10 seconds before Mum said "clever boy, you're standing up!" which of course made me realise what I was doing and fall over.
