Bushwalking (Bluff Knoll) 3:15:00 [3] 6.75 km (28:53 / km)

My second time up Bluff Knoll and I'm only 4 years old. This time we didn't have Grandad Ray, but we had Ricky's Tash. We couldn't see the mountain when we started because of the grey cloud but I was wearing my new stripey thermal top and bottoms, beany, jumper and raincoat so I was quite warm to start with. After just a little bit of uphill I remembered Grandad Ray making a bottom print in the mud on the way down last time! Then it was time to take off my beanie and give it to Dad. Then a few steps later I gave him my raincoat. Just a little bit further I gave him my jumper and I was now quite comfortable in just my thermals for the rest of the walk, even on the flatter bit at the top that went on forever when Mum kept stopping and asking if I wanted to wear some more clothes. Silly Mum, I was hot from walking up a mountain, why would I want more clothes on?!?

We saw the wavy rocks that used to be on the bottom of the sea and this time we also crossed some streams, one had a small waterfall. I saw some lizard holes and one even had a cheeky lizard that sneaked back inside quickly! The frogs up near the top were very noisy, but not scary like the one at home that goes MERRRRRRRRRRRRPPPPP! and scared me one night it was so loud. Today we only had one stop on the way up - and I had some nuts and sultanas and other nuts and then I kept walking. For the middle bit there were lots and lots of really big steps that Dad was complaining about a bit - but on me they were up to my middle, much bigger than for Dad. Hah. I held Dad's hand most of the way up here so I could pull myself up - Dad was saying how hot and sweaty he was but I was just fine.

It was fun on the top as we stopped on a nice flat bit with a view just like last time. NUFFING! Just white. Mum kept telling Dad to be careful as he can fall over anywhere and there was a cliff nearby somewhere in the white. We had sandwiches and I had lots of M&Ms that Dad had in his raincoat pocket. On the way down I went really fast and was at the front and an nice lady from Switzerland gave me a mini Toblerone. She also gave one to the others. I went to Switzerland when I was just a baby.

I slipped and fell on my bottom 3 times on the way down. One of them hurt a lot as I sat on a hard pointy rock. Dad said something about me needing a bigger bottom so I wasn't so sore, and something about Mum and Tash not hurting their bottoms. I told Dad just a bit later that if he says too many joking things then he won't get any ice-cream. This made Mum and Tash laugh a lot. When we got back to the car someone had written messages in the dirt on the side and the back - Mum said it was Russell and the people from work who only walked halfway up. We met them at the cafe though and I did some colouring in of dinosaurs and had a ham and cheese toasty and some chips. On the way home Tash and I fell asleep about 2 minutes after getting in the car.
