1 [2]

I'm still too little to do the string course, but I'm learning to use a compass so that I'll be ready next year. I loooooove Dad's compass. It is the best toy there is, and I hung on really tightly, all day and all the way home. The only thing better and shinier than a compass is Simmo, who is really brightly coloured, in green and yellow, and boy did I like staring at Simmo, I wish we had one at home!

Eating 1 [3]

In the Western Suburbs we don't have weetbix for breakfast, we go to coffee shops where people in business suits read newspapers, and we eat yummy raisin rolls and toast with peanut butter. Grandma was really impressed with how much I can eat, and seemed surprised that every last crumb disappeared, but why would I waste good food by dropping it?

Talking (Notalking) 2:00 [0]

We haven't seen Dadadad for a couple of days, since Esperance airport. I suppose we forgot him on the baggage carousel like with my luggage in London.
But this morning Mum pulled out a little black box that made a noise just like Dadadad's voice. I had been talking all morning but that was weird enough to shock me into a confused silence while the box made a noise like Dadadad saying "hello? hello Edmund?" Very strange.

Cell division 30:00 [4]

Mum left me with grandma while she went on a secret mission to find out what SOP stands for. She didn't, but at least I used the time productively, to squeeze out another tooth. I'm not sure why I always grow teeth when Grandma is looking after me, but luckily this one happened in my sleep so it wasn't so distressing (for either of us!)

Cuddles 1 [5]

I had a sleep-in this morning which was lucky, as it turns out, because Mum had a full day planned with lots of cups of coffee (for her) and mad cuddly ladies (for me). Grandma is mad, and cuddly. Greatgrandma is mad, and cuddly. Then there were a lot of pretend Aunties. I had some mango smoothie and whooooooo it was tasty! Yummo! I flapped my arms and squeaked and smiled like a squeaking smiley thing!
I fell asleep in seconds when Mum finally let me, need a good rest before I see cuddly RealAunty Carolyn and her mad brood this afternoon.

Eating 1 [3]

Stuff That Is Tasty But Mum Won't Let You Eat:
1) cat food
2) Arum lilies (actually Mum was quite willing but Dadadad said no)
3) cat food
4) live power cables
5) stones from bits of the garden where Mum has seen the cat go to the toilet. Fortunately Mum imagines that the cat only goes to the toilet when she is watching, which means that many cat-tasting stones are still fair game
6) kitchen sponges
7) the cat
8) Dadadad's socks after he's been running
9) drawing pins
10) cat food

It just doesn't seem fair.
