ahr:134 max:183

was just doing a regular ride and feeling pretty good, on the way back I went at a good all day pace into the wind. coming back from the breach I had a tail wind and was going at a good pace when a Tri Geek passed me all aeroed out so I grabbed his wheel all the way home. He wasn't happy as when he let up I went by him. LOL

Mt. Biking 1:40:00 [3] 14.1 mi (8.5 mph) +1879ft
ahr:115 max:162

the ride from hell. right away my bike was making a noise as I started to ride, not sure if it was the rear brake or the crank. decided to keep riding. on the first downhill I notice that the R brakes seemed to be messed up but they seem to slow me down so I decided to go ahead and keep going. at the top of NC I decided to take out a little more air out of the front and rear tire, bad move took out too much air and the tires were washing out/ rolling on most turns. then as I was heading down towards the coast the spare tube came out and got stuck in my RD luckily I saw that it was falling and felt it and was trying to slow down. I almost came to a stop right as the bike seized up. Thank God that I didn't go flying. got the tube out and then the RD didn't work. Got lucky as a guy that was a mechanic came by and helped me out. he got it to work in just the granny gear so I could rid out of Crystal Cove.

He said that it looks like I need a new chain and perhaps a new cassette. I hope I don't need a new RD. I may need a new Bottom Bracket and also Rear Brake. I need to have the entire bike looked at. Not very happy right now. But I guess It could have been much worse as the bike could have seized up when I was going fast down hill.

ahr:131 max:174

did more repeats on my same route leaving from Quail hill. 1 x up the backside of NC then headed down and did 1loop of Pelican Hill, headed down then NC and then up Ridge Park. Did that loop 3 times. did the first two loops in a gear harder than last week(except Ridge park). then did the last loop 2 gears harder than last week and went one gear harder on Ridge park. I took a minute off of the Ridge Park climb.

The climbing felt easier. I am still going slow but the AVG Hr was lower than last week and the climbing was faster. The effort was easier as well.

I still need to get more power and I need to keep dropping the weight. This may be my new climbing loop!

bike 2:10:00 [3] 40.25 mi (18.6 mph) +307ft
ahr:127 max:164

was just cruising on SART when I got a flat at about the 5 mile mark. after that I felt a little better and just a regular pace at the turn around I rode a little stronger towards the beach, and did a little bit of tempo grabbing whell. then rode steady from the beach to home. getting stronger on the bike. also on my R3 I feel more of my legs not just the lower quads. it also seems to get my entire body a little more tired. It has to be the saddle position.

bike 1:57:00 [3] 38.25 mi (19.6 mph) +290ft
ahr:139 max:164

had my best ride so far. legs felt tired at first. but they came around!

Today I rode my old Cervelo R3 it has the saddle about 1/2 inch higher than my new bike it also has power. I was just trying to keep it steady at 200W the entire ride.

I think I have not been able to produce the same power on the Madone because the saddle is too low. I noticed that on Sunday when I was climbing. The gear would seem hard to pull and I would stand and it would seem way too easy so I just sat back down.

I grabbed a wheel for about 4 miles and the guy was moving. on the way back from the beach I did about 2x5 min with 1min rest at about 260W or so.

Haven't ridden with power in a few months.

ahr:138 max:165

didn't feel too bad on this run. run is slowly but surely getting better every week. did the last mile sub 8min. pace and actually did the last 6min of that last mile at 7:19 pace. Getting fitter and not fatter.
