bike 4:39:00 [3] 78.5 mi (16.9 mph) +1010ft
ahr:133 max:164

well I have been sick this past week and the sore throat finally went away, but I am still congested. But I still decided to go ride. I went out to do an easier ride and just go by feel. Well I never really felt tired on this ride as I kept the HR in check. I did Big Ring a couple climbs(inclines) and noticed that the HR did elevate and that it didn't recover as fast.

The one thing that really stands out in my mind is the calorie intake. last week I did bike another 30 miles longer but I must have consumed at least 2x the calories if not more. I tried to restrict the caloric intake this time and I also never felt hungry during the ride.

Conclusion is that at some point between 133 BPM and 141 BPM my body switches from fat burning to burning a much higher percentage of carbs.

I am going to have to make this my regular ride and keep the HR in check until I become more efficient at burning fat. I should still be able to hit the mid 140's if not higher and be burning most of my calories from fat.

woke up feeling like I am going to get sick. went to the gym to lift to see how I would feel. I was a little off but stuck with it.

sore throat and some congestion.

run 12:00 [3] 1.33 mi (9:01 / mi)

was going to run easy because my right calf has been bothering me and because I feel like I am getting sick.

right calf started tightening up so I pulled the plug may wait another week to start running again.
