cleaned and lubed the chain last night and also adjusted the FD as it has been rubbing on the climbs. I guess it wasn't adjusted when I went from the DA Crank to the Quarq Crank a few weeks ago. the bike was riding smooth.

also I went back to wearing my old Bell Helmet and I instantly felt that it ventilated much better than that MIPS Gyro Helmet I have been wearing. I was told by Max and Tom Stepp that it was probably overheating me and I think they were right. We will see how it goes on a longer ride.

I somehow started the first part of the ride in race mode on my Garmin don't know how. So I just added them up.

rode to HB to meet Lendog and Greg W. they were riding with a group. When I saw then there was 2 big groups I am talking a total of maybe 50 people and they were moving at a strong pace against the wind. I got lucky and caught them at a light. The group would take off so fast after every light. We regrouped at bathrooms and then headed to CDM. there pretty much all of them headed back. I went to Laguna with Greg W and I showed him the NC climb up Vista Ridge to the park and then also the Pelican Hill loop. He headed back to LB. I did 3 repeats. I ran out of fuel and was feeling the heat. I stopped at A's Restaurant and Market on the way home.

I thought I rode pretty good, It was really hot. I think I am going to switch helmets and hopefully that will help with the heat. Also I think I am going to have to take in more calories on these longer rides. I am still doing them fasted as well. I felt much better on the way home after I ate at the restaurant so part of my problem maybe calories. But I am losing the weight so I may just stick to it.

I did have a bunch of PR todays even though I caught at least one light every time I went up NC. So very happy with that as I was never really going that hard. I did run into Tom Stepp and I talked to him up the climb I am pretty sure that was my PR as he made me work harder. He won the overall Aquabike at Santa Barbara last week.

legs felt tired, didn't really push it at all today but the watts felt harder. Hopefully it was just the tired legs as the HR seemed to be in check. It just seems that over the last week I haven't really gotten any stronger but I have lost weight so that is a plus. We will see how it goes as I plan to ride every day until next Wednesday. Six straight days.

headed to the beach for a tempo ride as it is going to be a hot day. Felt pretty good today. did my regular 2 x 2.25 miles or so towards the end of the ride, but the Garmin was not registering watts on the 2nd half of the 2nd interval(afer I hit a good bump). I recalibrated it after and it worked fine.
